In fact, that helped him to relax, as he started to feel comforted by how it was so like how things 'used to be'. The hiss of air pressure from the doors reminded him of the way that he'd use such transportation from time to time, and he could recall how he'd tried to catch a nap or have a snack during a ride. Even the ridership was familiar, as he could see girls in school uniforms giggling about something from class, office ladies in uniforms taking a moment to relax, and other women looking like they were ready to go on a day of shopping. Then came another car... with other schoolgirls wearing sailor style uniforms, women in business suits, and some apparently heading for some gym.
It wasn't until he saw a male face several cars in that he realized that something serious was up. After getting to see plenty of high and middle school girls, it had taken several moments before he saw what looked to be a junior high boy. What made it even more odd was the fact that he didn't see a single girl in that car, despite the fact that there was room for more people. Instead of fitting where they could fit, all of the women were in one group of cars, and the guys were in another.
"There ain't any girls in here," he muttered dully as he stepped into one of the cars.
Hayate peered over at him and gave a wry grin. "True, but think about it. You could be in for serious trouble if you were in a train full of girls."
"Why? They wouldn't attack me, right?"
"Well.... I'll admit that it's rare that a girl would get... 'hot and bothered' enough to really try anything serious, like pulling down her panties, and pulling up her skirt to... ahem, ease in a guy that she has trapped in a train, but it could happen."
"Ah...."
"The government tries to keep that from happening, especially since some girls don't have much control," the ninja admitted. "It might be possibly enjoyable, but it can be a bother if too many women try something. Self respect is one thing, but when opportunity comes, it might be too much temptation for a woman who could press her breasts against a boy's chest in a crowded train, or put his hand on her hip. And that doesn't include the possibility that she might want to grope him herself. I rather doubt that any guy wants any old stranger's hand down his pants."
Hearing Hayate's words painted a picture that was all too easy for Ranma to imagine, and he winced. "I see what ya mean."
"Fortunately, most women aren't like that, but you do have to watch out for the perverts. It's one thing when you want to do it with someone that you like...."
"That's too true...."
"But my sister isn't like that...." Hayate trailed off.
"Which one?" the pigtailed boy commented, wondering about how much Ayane was in to that sort of naughty behavior.
"Either one. My sisters aren't about to lose their dignity and attack guys like some do."
That had Ranma blinking in surprise as he tried to figure out if he should be worried, while:
