That was something that she was rather willing to protest, and did so... loudly. She'd complained that she was all alone, and couldn't see why she wasn't with her friends any more. It hadn't been like there had been some sort of problem between them, and she'd rather enjoyed the company of people who'd understood her. As far as she was concerned, being apart from them was just plain mean, and she didn't like it one bit.
Then the fact that they'd all needed training had been told to her, and those in charge had calmly explained that such instruction wasn't going to come up just anywhere. So, for them to get control of their powers, and possibly become powerful enough to fight back, they were going to need them to be apart for some time. And they'd asked her if she wanted to protect people from getting hurt the same way that she had been.
Well, when they put it that way, she could understand it better, just a little.
Still, she'd requested that she be given their addresses. After all, if they were merely training, then they weren't in any direct danger. Visiting them was something that she'd like to do, but the little brunette understood that wasn't something that one did on a whim. However, letters worked well enough, and it meant that she could keep in contact with more than one friend at a time.
Considering who they were dealing with, it hadn't seemed to be much of a problem. They saw no problem in such limited contact, and it might keep them more... human. Seeing as she seemed to have a psychological need for it, the authorities allowed for it to be done.
That was why she was standing at her front door, looking at the soldier with the disgruntled expression. "Yes? Can I help you?"
"Personnel files from the office," muttered the enlisted man. "Seems that you asked for them."
"Uh-huh. I did."
"Great. So little girls can force their way into government data."
"It's not like I'm stealing secrets. I just want to writ my friends," Makoto retorted.
"How nice for you. Not that I can see why you got special allowances for this."
"You have a family?"
Blinking in surprise, he nodded. "Yes, I do."
"I don't."
"Oh."
"They are my family," she muttered, and yanked the envelope away from him before stalking off to where she had a pad of paper and a pen waiting.
Wincing, the military man watched her go, hearing mumbles from time to time, and promised himself that he'd watch his tongue in future situations, while:
