"A fairly talented martial artist," said Ku Lon.
"That's not what I mean, and you know it," pointed out Lo Shan with some venom.
"Did you read the reports that SERA organization put out?" asked Ku Lon, letting the venom slide off her.
"Of course I did!" exclaimed Lo Shan.
Cologne's glance indicated some skepticism. "Let me refresh your memory then. Ranma Saotome is someone with two distinct personalities. Due to something that apparently occurred at the very epicenter of the event that created the Demon Ward - the boy has been known to change to an animalistic personality. It's something like the Cat Fist technique from what I understand. More of a Demon Fist though."
"I remember reading that," said Ta Luc, tapping her pipe out into an ashtray. "Unlike the Cat Fist though, it is not fear that triggers it. The presence of hostility, especially a threat to members of his 'pack' and supernatural influences can all trigger the appearance of this 'Black Ranma.' Is it as formidable as they indicated?"
"I'd say so," said Go Losu. "None of the children were injured, but five of them soiled their clothing and two suffered from injuries brought on by their panic. All of them are suffering from nightmares."
"I'd say so," said Ku Lon. "He has apparently accepted Shampoo as a sort of 'sister' figure or 'pack-mate' and tolerates her normal competitiveness. I would caution against doing anything threatening towards the boy or those he considers members of his pack. The Beast dwelling within him hasn't killed anyone YET. What I can tell you from my observation is that it is Old and Powerful, not human either. Don't count on human sensibilities or squeamishness to save anyone foolish enough to stir its anger."
"According to the report, it hasn't actually killed anyone HUMAN - but it HAS done sufficient damage to require modern medical techniques that we don't have here in the village," said Ta Luc. "Which, if you'll all recall - was why I'd opposed housing this boy here."
"Be that as it may," said Ku Lon. "It's not something we have to worry about that much longer. A few years and it will be done."
