Lunch, consisting of rice, fish, and daikon was delicious, even if there wasn't enough for Ranma. Still Hotaru had been more than happy to share her portion with Ranma when he started eying it, though much to his embarrassment, she would only let him eat it if she fed him.
Setsuna found it to be the funniest thing she had seen in a long time. The conversation during lunch was a bit more difficult. Setsuna led it, of course, subtly directing Hotaru and Ranma to tell more about themselves and reveal bits and pieces. She wanted the marriage to work for Hotaru's sake, and that meant making sure that the two got along.
As Ranma revealed more about his past and his opinions, Setsuna was able to confirm what she initially thought, Ranma was not what she expected to be Hotaru's type. With the way the young girl gazed at Ranma, however, she was pretty sure her opinion on the matter wasn't worth a single yen.
Eventually the conversation died down, and Setsuna recognized the looks that Hotaru was giving Ranma. Ranma, however, was completely oblivious. This lasted until Hotaru reached out and took Ranma's hand. With a blush on her face, she quietly said "Ranma, let me show you our bedroom."
At Ranma's look of panic, Setsuna bit her tongue to help her keep a serious face. "That's a good idea, Hotaru. Ranma needs to see where you'll be sleeping. I have some business to take care of, but will be back later this afternoon. Just leave the dishes where they are. I'll clean them later. You two have fun." With that said, Setsuna stood and left the house, holding her chuckle in until she was out of site.
Ranma, meanwhile, was continuing to panic within his mind. He continued to run through all of his options, trying to find some way to get out of visiting the girl's bedroom without hurting her feelings. Unfortunately, thinking wasn't his strong point. Likewise, he was so caught up in his own thoughts that he never noticed that Hotaru had gently led him up to her bedroom.
He did start noticing what was happening, however, when he found himself sitting on Hotaru's bed with the young girl kissing him. At that point, he had no chance of escape.
Genma pulled on his bathrobe, surprised that the dark blue piece of clothing still fit him. It had been ten years since he had last worn it, but apparently life on the road was good for keeping one in shape.
Turning his head, Genma gazed fondly at his wife, who was under the thick blankets of their bed, passed out. Genma smiled for a few minuets as he took in the site before leaving for the kitchen. It was good to know that he still had it.
Reaching the kitchen, he quickly and efficiently made himself a cup of tea and then walked out into the fenced in back yard. Glancing toward the sun, he judged it to be late afternoon or early evening. That meant he would probably be on his own for dinner. It was worth it, however, and from past experience he was sure Nodoka would be ready for another round in another three or four hours.
He continued to stand in the backyard, drinking his tea and enjoying the fond new memories he had created for himself. This lasted until it was forcibly interrupted by a a girl wielding a spatula coming down at him from the air.
"Genma Saotome, prepare to die!" screamed Ukyo as she began her attack.
"Ah, home sweet home."
"Really Haruka," Michiru asked, "why do you always have to drive so fast?"
"Because I need the speed." Haruka grinned as she walked into the living room of their home. Once there, however, she stopped in surprise. "Setsuna! You're still here!"
"Did you know," Setsuna said in reply, "if you had left just two minutes later this afternoon, there would have been three police who would have had to arrest you? Just one more speeding violation and you loose your license, you know."
When Haruka blanched, Setsuna raised her cup of tea to hide her smile. She had no clue if there would have been any police around, but it was fun to have the other Senshi think she was the all knowing one.
"You see, Haruka," Michiru said as she came up next to her lover, "you should take it easy."
"Yeah, yeah," Haruka replied. "Say, Setsuna, have you seen Hotaru-chan today? Since we missed her this morning I wanna see her."
"I believe she fell asleep about an hour ago," Setsuna said, thinking about when the house had finally quieted down. "Though I recommend that you leave her alone for now. A young woman like her needs privacy, after all."
"I'm just gonna look in on her. I won't wake her," Haruka replied as she headed for the stairs.
"You really shouldn't," Setsuna's voice softly followed her.
Haruka, however, completely ignored the older woman, walking up the stairs and moving to the shut door of her daughter's bedroom. Reaching out, she opened the door and looked inside. What she saw, caused her jaw to drop open in shock. She stood their only a moment, before she charged the bed.
"DIE!"
Ranma was stunned. It was a really, REALLY pleasant stunned, however. The things that he had done to Hotaru and that she had done to him, well, all Ranma could do was lay on the bed with a stupid smile on his face. Both he and Hotaru were laying on top of the covers, naked, sweaty, and an over all mess. Hotaru was sound asleep and draped all over him. And all he could do was remember.
He never consciously recognized the door opening, the scream for his death, or the woman charging. When she came in range, however, his free arm snapped out, grabbed the hand that was going for his throat and promptly threw her out the window. Out the closed window. On the second floor. And through it all, Ranma continued to smile.
