After saying her transformation phrase Michiru had expected to end up in her regular Sailor Neptune uniform. However, immediately after the transformation had started, Michiru knew that something different was happening. She had transformed often enough to know exactly how her transformation was supposed to happen normally, but what she was doing now was definitely NOT her normal sparkling lights routine.
Just as she was about to panic in the middle of her transformation, an old memory surfaced in Michiru’s mind. The ‘Sailor Neptune’ form that Michiru usally transformed into was the maiden version of her senshi powers. Due to the fertility related aspects of senshi magic Michiru was now transforming into her ‘Queen of Neptune’ form. This was because the senshi magic powered up a mated senshi so that the senshi could better defend her potential offspring.
While the transformation was happening, Michiru felt a sharp pain in her mind. That pain was caused by Michiru’s senshi magic ‘downloading’ information about the Queen form directly into her brain. The information was mostly about how all her physical and magical abilities had drastically increased from her Sailor Neptune form. Several new magical attacks were included in the download that far surpassed anything that Usagi could do as Sailor Moon.
However, the most important piece of information in the download Michiru got was tied in with the fertility aspects of the senshi magic. While transformed, a queen senshi could shift her womb into a pocket dimension. While it was in the pocket dimension the womb and any life it contained would be sustained by the senshi magic. This allowed a queen to fight at her full abilities without worrying about an unborn child. There were even more benefits to that particular ability. On the one side her senshi magic would not allow her to return her womb is she was under any form of mind control, while on the other side it would automatically shift a queen’s womb if she did come under any form of mind control.
Once the transformative light had disappeared Ranma was the first person to lay his eyes on Queen Neptune. Unlike Michiru’s practically cheesecake Sailor Neptune form, her Queen Neptune form was all business. The ‘dress’ part of the uniform now went down to Michiru’s knees and was covered in Roman-like dress armor. Her blouse now looked like it was made out of an extremely fine silvery mesh. While the make-up and earrings that had been a part of the Sailor Neptune guise still appeared on Queen Neptune, the tiara had been replaced with a larger pointed crown. Finally, the Neptune Mirror had transformed into a trident.
