[Episode 208359] [Episode 208359]"...What do you mean?" asked Ranma as he stopped on one foot, just about to bolt. He hoped this wouldn't take too long, he needed to get back before Ukyo and Hinako got too angry...
"...Well, if you're injured, you can go home... right?" asked Hikari. Ranma still didn't know what she was getting at, but nodded. If she had a plan, why couldn't she just tell him outright?
"Then how about we have a fight?" she offered. "If I can hurt you bad enough, you can go home and say that after running from those two, I challenged you and you ended up getting too injured! It won't be a lie, and you can avoid getting beat on by the two you mentioned!" Ranma's distressed face suddenly turned to one of happiness. She was right, after all. Everyone around the household knew that if a martial artist was challenged, he or she had to take it up.
"...All right then, bring it on!" he said, readying a battle stance. "Just don't expect me to hold back because you're a girl!" Although he meant it, he just couldn't seem to find it in his heart to go all out on Hikari. After all, he didn't want to beat up such a... beautiful young woman.
However, fortunately for Ranma, he didn't have to. In a blur, she pounded on him in multiple places in what seemed like a split second. As Ranma crumpled to the ground in sheer pain, he couldn't help but think as he heard multiple snaps.
H...How is she this good...? he wondered, completely ignoring his broken bones and massive bruises. ...I... I didn't even see her! He felt his ego breaking in two; first she rescues him, then she completely wipes the floor with him - had he been slacking off in his training?
"...Wow, I didn't think it would be over so quick..." Hikaru said, dissapointed. "...Well, we'd better get you back to the Tendo Dojo... You live there, right?" Ranma weakly nodded as she picked him up carefully (along with a few grunts of pain from Ranma), placed him on her back, and ran off to bring the injured young man home.
"Oh my, Ranma!" gasped Kasumi as Hikari walked in with him on her back. Ranma could see his father laughing as he saw him beaten up by a woman and on the same girl's back, nontheless.
Ha ha ha! You got beat that easily? You're slacking off! Looks like we need to start with the basics again, boy! ...Ranma didn't think his pride could take much more damage, so he decided to just sit back (or forward in the current situation) and let things take their course...
"Well, Kasumi-senpai, I thought I'd challenge Ranma-kun to a match while he was on his lunch break, but I think I kinda overdid it..." said Hikari. ...I'll say... thought Ranma.
"Oh, that's a shame, Hikari-chan..." said Kasumi. "Well, take him upstairs to his room, and I'll bandage him up then take him to Dr. Tofuu's when Akane and Nabiki get-"
"No, no, no!" said Ranma, afraid of what Dr. Tofuu would do to him if Kasumi were around when he was treating him. "Um... I mean... Hikari can take me, you don't have to push yourself, Kasumi... Ha ha... ha..." Hikari and Kasumi looked at him oddly, then Hikari looked to Kasumi and shrugged as Kasumi smiled.
"All right, then," said Kasumi as she walked back into the kitchen. Hikari nodded as she took Ranma upstairs to his room and put him on his bedsheets on the floor.
"Are you gonna be okay?" asked Hikari. She looked to him with a worried look in her eyes that made Ranma blush.
"...Y... Yeah..." muttered Ranma. "...It's nothing compared to what the others would do to me..." He tried to laugh, but held his ribcage in pain as he did so.
"...Well, if you say so..." said Hikari. "I'll be back to pick you up when the High School lets out, all right?" Ranma nodded, still blushing as she opened the door and left his room, closing it behind her to let him sleep.
...She's so nice to me... he thought. ...She's nothing like the others... He knew he was blushing, but all he could think about was Hikari. He didn't even try to get the thoughts out of his head as he slowly drifted off to sleep... He slept peacefully with dreams of Hikari and him, together happily before a voice woke him up.
