In a highly secured conference room in Asgard, the Almighty and Lady Hild were meeting in person. Lady Hild had reached Asgard undetected through the use of a hidden transportation pad that only she and the Almighty knew about. They were meeting in secret because they didn’t want to raise the suspicions of their subordinates. In fact, no one except for them would know anything about what they were going to be talking about. After all, no other immortal had Omega-level clearance.
Lady Hild looked at the printouts that she was holding for a minute and then set them on the conference table. Giving her former lover a tired stare Lady Hild said, “So, the old spell subroutines from the last cycle have been accessed.” When the Almighty calmly nodded his head Lady Hild slammed her fist on the table and said, “Bless it all! I knew we should have removed all the old spell subroutines from the World Computer before we restarted the world. But no, we both decided that since no one would be aware of those routines we could leave them in place and save millennia on reprogramming time.”
In a wise and calming voice the Almighty said, “What’s done is done and we must accept that. There is no way that we can remove those spell routines without destroying the world and having to restart the creation process once again after their removal. That, as we are both aware of, is an unacceptable outcome.” Not only was the idea of ending trillions of lives just to stop a few individuals overkill, but too many deities and demons had died due to the reloading of the universe last time.
Shaking her head Lady Hild sourly said, “How are we supposed to get out of this pickle? If it comes to another war between us and Dark Schneider he’ll mostly likely be victorious. We just don’t have the numbers like we used to have to win a war against the man. We immortals, after all, measure our population growth in terms of percents over eons. What can we do?”
The Almighty then said, “The situation is not that bad just yet Hild. Currently only Schneider is awake while Lucifer still sleeps soundly within young Shingo. Also, given the nature of what happened to Schneider and his generals, Shingo could be the only reincarnation currently alive in the mortal world. Granted, chances are rather small, but it is still a good possibility. Also, Shingo’s current life helps in tempering some of negative traits he inherited from Schneider.”
Nodding her head Lady Hild said, “Those are some good points, Deus, and they should be considered. However, that still leaves an unanswered question. How are we going to deal with Schneider’s return?”
