Lady Hild snapped her fingers and said, “What if we were to engage Shingo to one of our subordinates? Marriage alliances have after all been used for millennia among both human and other races as a way to bind two semi-hostile groups closer together. Giving the boy an immortal bride, with say the Sol system as the dowry, would link him and Schneider to the Dual Alliance. At the very least it would keep him from butting heads with either of us.”
The Almighty rubbed his chin for a moment as he carefully considered Hild’s words. On the plus side such an arrangement would prevent another conflict with the wandering wizard. However, even though Shingo’s life was improving Shingo/Schneider’s personality there was still the fact that the boy was going to end up with at least a small harem and that could be a problem. Actually it wasn’t really a problem since most gods and demons tended to collect harems so most female immortals were already aware that they might end up in one.
But choosing the one best suited for Shingo required careful consideration. All demonesses of Hild’s realm were automatically rejected as potential brides. Those ladies would cause, even if they weren’t deliberately trying to, just as much if not more trouble than their presence would solve. Schneider needed a ball and chain, not a bellow. That meant that Shingo needed to be wed to a goddess. Now who would be a good choice?
