The Tsukino family was sitting around the table calmly eating dinner and talking about their day. Usagi had mentioned the new student in her class named Ami and Shingo talked about how he had met the girl before school. Ikuko talked about what she had heard about from her friends today while Kenji talked about what was going on at the office. All and all it was a perfectly normal family dinner.
No body at the table looked out the window and noticed the Moon in the sky and a ray of light coming from the Moon. Normally this really wouldn’t be noteworthy except for the fact that there was a new moon in the sky. Slowly a leg and then an arm came out of the moonbeam and into the Tsukino kitchen. Ikuko noticed the leg and arm suddenly appear out of no where and she let out a shriek. Instantly the whole family turned to see the arm and leg.
Usagi was about to transform and was about to reach for her brooch when she felt someone grab her hand. She turned around and saw Shingo slowly shaking his head. Unlike Usagi Shingo, or rather Schneider knew that an immortal being was coming to visit them. Now Shingo didn’t know whether it was a Demoness or a Goddess that was coming to visit, but either way the best course of action was to hold tight and see what was going on.
Just seconds after Shingo had stopped Usagi Selene fully emerged from the moon beam and bowed her head. In a gentle and soothing tone she said, “I’m sorry for any fright that my teleportation might have caused you. Unfortunately I have to generate and maintain moonbeams during the new moon which slows down my teleportation creating that floating limbs effect you just saw. Once again I am terrible sorry for all of this.”
Ikuko, who had been quickly awakened by Usagi, turned to look at Selene. With a slightly curious and confrontational look in her eye Ikuko said, “Who are you and how did you get into our house? I don’t know of anyone who can just appear like that.” Behind her confrontational facade Ikuko was deeply worried. This woman had, as shown by her arrival, of supernatural abilities and Ikuko was worried about what that meant for her family.
Selene bowed her head again and said, “I don’t believe that you personally know of anyone capable of teleporting like I did although you have heard of others in passing. As I said earlier I came into the house on a moonbeam I created. It seemed to be the more prudent course of action since it would make what I am about to say more believable to you all. I am the goddess Selene, Administrative category, second class, unlimited license. The reason why I am here is fairly simple: according to the Almighty’s edict your son and I are to marry.”
