Kenji watched as Ikuko faint out of surprise and really wished that he could join her in lala land. However, something in the back of Kenji’s mind was telling that this was real and that fainting would only push this conversation back. Letting out a small sigh the worried patriarch said, “Usagi watch your mother. Lady Selene, if you wouldn’t mind may I suggest that you, Shingo, and I go into the living room talk about the Almighty’s edict?” Selene nodded her head politely and waited to be directed to the Tsukino living room. Once the trio had sat down, Kenji started to ask a few questions, “Lady Selene would you please tell me who exactly the Almighty is and why this person wants you to marry Shingo?”
Selene nodded her head and calmly replied, “The Almighty is the ultimate deity and is the ruler of Asgard or Heaven as you mortals refer to it. As to why he wants me marry Shingo that requires a bit of history.” For the next hour Kenji listened as Selene talked about Dark Schneider and the Armageddon Wars as the immortals referred to Dark Schneider’s time. Here and there Shingo would add something to what Serenity was saying, but mostly he kept silent as well.
Once Selene had finished talking Kenji said, “Let me go over everything once more from the top to see if I understand the situation at hand. Shingo,” here he paused to look at his son before continuing, “is the reincarnation of Dark Schneider. In his last lifetime my son waged a war against both Heaven and Hell nearly conquering both realms. Now because Schneider’s powers and memories are returning to Shingo the Almighty is worried about another war breaking out. So to stop such a thing from occurring again, the Almighty is having you marry Shingo?” Serenity nodded her head once in reply.
This situation was really starting to get to Kenji. He wasn’t sure if it was the fact that Shingo was a wizard, that his son had nearly conquered Heaven in a previous lifetime, or the fact that there was a genuine goddess who was sent here to placate the boy. These kinds of things just didn’t come up in those parenting classes they give to new parents. Finally Kenji sighed and said, “I understand Lady Selene. For what little it is worth this engagement between you and my son has my full support.”
