Hammond was standing in front of the embarkation ramp in front of the Stargate waiting for SG-3 along with Teal’c to return with Col. O’Neil and Major Carter. Doctor Jackson, who hadn’t gone to the infirmary yet like he was supposed to, was standing next Hammond for everyone’s return as well. The general’s plan was to make Jack sweat a little and then tell the colonel that being under the influence of an alien device was a solid defense. In Hammond’s mind things like his plan helped to keep SG-1 grounded with all of the craziness that the team went though. Those plans disappeared from Hammond’s mind when he saw everyone, or more specifically Jack, walk through the Stargate. With his confusing showing in his tone Hammond said, “Col. O’Neil, why are you dressed up in a Tuxedo?”
Jack raised his right hand and said, “It’s a funny question Sir. Honesty, I have no clue why I’m dressed like this. You see Carter was trapped behind this force field thing and then there was this purple light. Next thing I know I’m wearing this cocktail outfit with a rose in my hand. I tossed the rose away, it hit the force field thing, and then the force field just collapsed.”
Hammond then turn to look at Sam and the look he sent her made it obvious that he wanted to know what she had to say. Sam quickly said, “It’s all true Sir. The Col. was surrounded by this purple light for a second and then he was wearing his present outfit. Also, I don’t know how he got that rose, but it did disrupt the Goa’uld force field.”
Jack then spoke up, “Sir, can you yell at us for breaking your orders latter? I just want to go to the locker room and change out of this suit.” Before Hammond or anyone else could say something Jack was covered in a bright light for a second. When the light disappeared a moment latter the colonel was back to wearing his BDUs. Jack looked at himself and saw that he was back in his normal clothes and said, “Thank-you. That tux was really starting to get annoying.”
Immediately after Jack said that he was surrounded in a flash of light and was once again wearing the tuxedo. Before Jack could say anything Hammond said, “Why don’t you go to the infirmary Colonel and have Doctor Frasier look over you. Perhaps she can tell us what’s going on.”
