That didn't mean that she particularly liked having to wade through a mass of would be fighters.
"They could have been the Lin Kuei or something else that I could expect," the red clad ninja lamented as she sensed a number of them trying to surround her. "Or the Hayabusa clan might have been nice, since that certainly would be a challenge."
There seemed to be something of a mocking reaction in the movements of the attackers as they proceeded to leap right at her.
Taki was utterly still in her crouch... until her foot snapped out to catch one combatant in the gut as he held his weapon high above his head. Another whip of a limb had her right elbow, and then fist, smashing into the face of another fighter. Spinning on the toes of one foot, she slammed her knee into a third minion as she dodged the attack of a fourth, while returning the latter attack to the back of the head of that individual at the same time. With a single slice of her blade, she disarmed the last one, and then promptly sailed past him as she sent him tumbling to the floor as she used him as a launching point.
Straight through the mass of minions she went, letting the shine of her swords blur through the light as she left them falling to the ground in her wake. "But these are mere cannon fodder, meant for sneak attacks, not direct battles."
"Perhaps I can do," murmured a male voice.
Blinking, she turned and then sighed slightly. "Assassin."
"That is what I am called."
"Can I just ask one question?"
"Since you won't live long enough to pass it on?" murmured the man from behind the strip of cloth wrapped around his face, showing hard eyes.
"That's exactly it," Taki sighed. "Do you all have to be such fools? Don't you idiots ever have names?"
Sending a scowl her way, the warrior twirled the blade of his sword and made his way towards her, clearly intent on doing as much harm as he could.
Akane wasn't exactly one to shy away from fights, but she was also not about to look for them. Sure, having to use violence might come up to defend herself, or take down a threat, but she'd rarely had to do that on her own choice. The fact was that her previous owners had always told her who to fight, and she'd never wanted to show and blood thirst, since she wasn't one of those monsters that she'd seen in the pits from time to time.
She just didn't shy from doing serious damage in her fights either.
"Ahhh... ahhh.... AHHH!" screeched one thug as she grabbed his arm and twisted it, breaking the limb in the process. "AAHHHHHH!"
One woman tried to charge right at her, but didn't get far when she grabbed the young fighter by the face. "GAK!"
"A woman's looks are supposed to be her treasure," Akane mused, and the used her grip to toss the unfortunate woman away. "Maybe you'll still be rich."
"Why you bitch!" snarled one girl who charged right at her.
That minion then folded over the former pit fighter's fist as she sent a punch right between the other girl's breasts.
Then came the crash of two skulls as Akane knocked two heads together. Others would have stepped back if they could, but she didn't give them a chance. Instead, she punted one man in a spot that wasn't exactly... comfortable for his masculinity before swinging a forearm into the belly of another. Bones audibly cracked and shattered as she landed another punch just before a kick sent yet another minion bouncing down the block.
Grabbing one would be attacker by the throat, she squeezed slightly. "Who the hell are you guys? Who do you work for?"
"Bird...." gasped the caught stooge.
"Huh?"
"'Of Passage'. 'Bird of Passage'."
Snorting, she flung the attacker away from her, and scowled. To most, the name wouldn't have meant much, but she was a former possession of the yakuza, and they heard the whispers in the night. She knew of the fear and respect that had come to be associated with the name. However, she wasn't exactly desiring to hear it, and would prefer to have it go away.
As a result, several minions were soon coughing up blood, and a few were rolling on the ground, clutching broken legs as she let her punches and kicks hit with the force of jackhammers.
At least, that was the case until a familiar face appeared in her vision.
"Here to kill some poor soul?" Akane asked, cracking her knuckles as she spoke.
Rei allowed her red eyes stay steady on the rough looking girl, even as she dodged attackers. "Not as such."
"Kuno holding you back?"
"Who would that be?"
The former pit fighter gazed at the pale girl and noticed the odd state of dress the other girl was in. "Isn't he supposed to be your master?"
"No. Ranma Saotome is. You part of those who wish to attack him?"
"No, we stumbled into this."
"Ah."
"Funny, that Rei girl looks just like you," Akane murmured as she grabbed an attacker by his shirt and threw him off into the distance.
"Must be one of my sisters."
"You have sisters too?"
"Yes," Rei stated, going back to back with the girl that she now realized was not a threat. "They are here as well?"
"Somewhere in this mess."
"Let us find them then."
"Sounds good to me," Akane murmured, and joined her new companion in battering the enemy, while:
