Ranma spent over twenty years asleep under the Arctic ice. His body was in a state of hibernation while his mind processed everything that was happening in the world. It was during this hibernation that Ranma finished his metamorphosis into Slyfer. As far as he was concerned, Ranma was the name of his human form, while Slyfer was the name of his draconic form. Slyfer's hibernation abruptly ended one day when he felt an angel approaching Japan. The mighty dragon god's eyes glowed and his icy tome was shattered. Then with a great roar, Slyfer took to the sky to come to the aid of his old homeland.
At the moment Shinji figured that no one had it worse than him. Gendo had called Shinji to come to Tokyo 3 and the poor boy had found himself pressed into piloting a robot that he didn't even know how to operate. To complicate things, Shinji was immediately sent out in the EVA to fight a creature that had withstood a N2 mine. Why couldn't he have a break?
Suddenly every hair on the back of Shinji's neck stood up and he turned the EVA's head to look over his shoulder. Inside NERV, every sensor in the base was going wild reading the approach of a massive source of power. Even the Angel had paused in its attack to look in the same direction that Shinji was looking. Shinji and everyone in NERV couldn't believe what they were seeing. A HUGE dragon was rapidly approaching while the sky around it were turning pitch black.
Slyfer spotted the third angel and immediately unleashed his breath attack. Unlike with Adam, Slyfer was well rested and had far more control over his power than he had twenty years ago. Also, there was a power gap between Adam and any of his children. It therefore came as no surprise when the third angel was completely obliterated by Slyfer's attack.
Everyone, even Gendo, was now holding their breaths and waiting to see what Slyfer would do. Some of the bridge bunnies had actually fainted in shock when Slyfer obliterated the angel. Shinji was desperately praying that the dragon wouldn't attack him. Even with how badly his life was going, Shinji had no wish to become dragon chow.
Slyfer heard Shinji's prayer and flew over Tokyo 3. The dragon deity immediately proclaimed, "HEAR ME, OH CITIZENS OF TOKYO 3. I AM SLYFER THE GOD OF DRAGONS. AS OF THIS DAY YE SHALL NEED NOT FEAR ANY ATTACKS FROM THE CHILDREN OF ADAM FOR I SHALL PROTECT YOU."
