There was nothing but silence that followed the Enact's defeat by the mystery unit. Graham needed to get a closer look and saw an Italian man just sitting ahead of him using a digital camera to take pictures. He leaned forward to snatch the camera from his hands. "Excuse me."
"Hey!"
"I said excuse me," came the flat response as his eyes examined the display screen which was already zoomed out as far as it could go. He pointed the camera towards the unit to get as much information as possible. When he got to the head, he spotted a single word engraved just above the v-fins.
GUNDAM
"Gun... dam? Is that the name of this mobile suit?"
"Gundam?" Billy had to take a moment to absorb the new term as the mystery mobile suit turned around and begun to levitate, spreading more particles out before departing.
"It's that light again."
"It doesn't seem to have any propulsion so how...?"
The sound of a cockpit opening below caught Graham's attention as a disoriented Patrick Colasour stepped out into the fresh air. "Where did that guy go? Did he just run off?! Just when I was... getting warmed up!"
"I see that it destroyed the Enact without harming the pilot," murmured the ace Union pilot to himself. "But is that mobile suit trying to destroy the AEU's military forces?"
"That's not it," interrupted Kujoh. "I believe that the Gundam is warning the AEU that they are going too far with military development. Also, I would surmise that another reason why the Gundam came out was to leave an impression on the international community. Dismantling the Enact like it was nothing is definitely a good start."
"An interesting theory. So do you think that the ones who were behind the Gundam's construction will reveal themselves and their intentions soon?"
"Who knows, Billy? But in the light of this event, it's safe to assume that I'll be recalled back to Union soon to help investigate this matter." She sighed softly. "How troublesome."
"Can I have my camera back now?"
"Ah... sorry." The Italian man snatched the camera from Graham's hands before he got up in a hurry to exit the stands. As soon as he was safely within his car, he punched in a phone number on his cell phone.
"Put me through to the Boss. There's something here he's got to see."
"The Enact was defeated in less than a minute by this mystery mobile suit. The question now becomes... can anyone explain to me why we never caught wind of it? I mean... being on top of military information is how we've been able to stay on top."
The other members of Nuova Camorra Organizzata could offer no response to Don Antonio Cutolo's question as they fidgeted uncomfortably from their seats in the meeting room. "We offer our sincerest apologies, sir."
"In any case, get me Admiral LeBlanc. We need to have a little discussion on how we can continue our weapons trading business." Before he could continue, there was a knock on the door. Antonio merely grumbled to himself before speaking again. "What is it?"
"I'm sorry to interrupt but our Hellion storage facilities in the Tuscany region, the Umbria region and the Marche regions have all been destroyed! And we've got reports of our Lazio facilities being attacked right now!"
"What?!"
"And that takes care of that." The fourth and final target area had been eliminated, coinciding with the release of Zero's data on AEU's arms trading and the involvement of the Naples Mafia to the world media. Assuming things go as planned, this will cease the distribution of the Hellions to other terrorist groups and the authorities can go ahead and arrest the mafia in one big sweep. All in a day's work...
"Finished! Finished!" chirped his artificially intelligent robotic companion, who was positioned directly in front of him and interfaced with his mobile suit systems.
"Well, then partner... should we get going? Setsuna's probably knee deep in trouble by now," said the green clad pilot with a small amused smile on his face.
"Roger! Roger!"
"Dynames... Lockon Stratos, heading off!"
