"Target approximately 8 km away... Exia maintaining course. Using GN Sample to confirm target." A small image of what appeared to be a compound on the eastern coast of Sardinia popped up on the main display screen. "Target confirmed, proceeding as planned. Commencing second phase."
As the Gundam Exia continued its journey over the Mediterranean Sea, the long range sensors picked up at least four brown Hellions approaching him from the target area. The Nuova Camorra Organizzata must have stationed some security at their own private mobile suit manufacturing base that had recently been constructed. With the approaching forces and the six AEU green Hellions hot on his rear, he would have to strike fast and hard in order to finish the Second Phase within the time parameters. Flicking a switch, the GN Rifle shifted into his unit's right hand and fired a shot towards one of the Hellions while accelerating even faster. The sudden attack caught one enemy off guard as it was sent in freefall towards the water.
The shock of the sudden attack allowed Setsuna enough time to close the distance between him and the brown Hellions and slice one more up with his GN sword. The remaining two brown Hellions tried putting some distance between themselves and the Gundam with their linear rifles firing to provide cover but the agility of Exia was too much for them and soon, they too were sent to the water.
"Jesus!! Spread out, fellas!!" shouted one of the AEU Hellion pilots to his comrades.
Setsuna slightly frowned underneath his blue helmet. His intuition told him that dealing with military trained soldiers would probably be a little more difficult than those grunts he dispatched earlier. As it turned out, he was correct for the most part as the AEU Hellions moved tightly to control the air space and limit the Gundam's movements. The linear rifle shots were easily blocked with his lengthy GN sword but his enemies weren't giving him easy targets.
"It's quick but there's only one! Let's wipe it out!" Before he could go any further, a pink energy discharge from high above struck the right side of his mobile suit, destroying the limb and sending him down into the Mediterranean sea.
This of course caused confusion among the AEU ranks as they saw the squad leader shot down. "Enemy fire!"
"The hell did that come from?!" Another blast, another Hellion down.
"It's above us!!"
Setsuna didn't need to guess who was the one providing him with backup. "Gundam Dynames..."
Three more shots came from approximately the lower part of the stratosphere, leaving only one more enemy to deal with. Without wasting a moment, the Exia swung the GN sword to destroy the Hellion's propulsion and send it down to the sea before retracting its blade. As soon as that was done, a small image on his display console popped up to show a man of Irish descent with messy brown hair and green eyes sitting comfortably in his mobile suit. "Is it me or do you just love getting in over your head like this?"
"Lockon Stratos," replied the pilot of the Exia in a neutral tone.
"Now that I'm here, there's no point in you having to travel the rest of the way to the place to take it out. Leave the rest to me and head back to the base."
"Roger."
He closed the channel and sighed to himself. "Guy's been with us for six years and he still rushes out recklessly..."
"What to do? What to do?" chirped his orange companion.
"We'll just have to let Zero deal with that, partner. He's been responsible for that kid ever since he found him in the Kurdish Republic." Lockon pulled down his targeting computer to aim at the compound to be destroyed. "Dynames... sniping the target!!" He pulled the trigger to fire a shot from his GN sniper rifle and blast the compound and all of its manufacturing capabilities to pieces.
"Second Phase completed! Second Phase completed!"
He leaned back in his seat to relax a bit before replacing the targeting computer and taking hold of the controls. "It won't be long now..." Once the announcement was made, there would be no going back.
