Ranma's incarnation during the Silver Millennium was Hirashirama Uzumaki. Hirashirama's ancestors had arrived at the Silver Millennium centuries before Hirashirama's time fleeing from the destruction of creatures known only as the Biju. They had been allowed by Princess Serenity's great-great-grandmother to settle on Ganymede as long as they provided a guard for the House of Selene.
It was almost inevitable that Princess Serenity would fall in love with Hirashirama. He was handsome, strong, considerate, friendly, and was always there. At first, Hirashirama had protected Serenity out of duty, but in latter years he had protected her out of love. Their love was practically something out of a romance novel that Serenity's practically ceremonial Scout guardians loved to read.
There was only one problem: Harashirama was not 'noble' enough in the eyes of the Silver Millennium to date the princess. His people were ranked below the commoners because they kept to their ancestral ways and didn't integrate into the Silver Millennium. Even the fact that Harashirama's clan had produced many Kages wouldn't have raised the court's opinion of his worthiness to date Princess Serenity.
Surprisingly, Princess Serenity had figured out a way that they could be together without causing an uproar. She and Endymion agreed to pretend to be together and would be just obvious enough about it that both courts would 'know' who their crown prince/princess was in love with. This allowed Endymion to wait for Lady Mana of Egypt to grow up enough so he could court her and would provide Serenity the ability to see Hirashirama. The deception would last only until Serenity took the throne on her 35th birthday.
Queen Serenity hadn't caught on to the trio's deception when she cast her spell reincarnating everyone. This had caused a whole slew of headaches for Mamoru, Ranma, and Usagi. It had been an interesting couple of weeks after Ranma and Usagi had met for the first time because Ranma's presence had started unlocking the trio's memories and the true story. All three of them were happier now that everything had been straitened out, but it had been very trying originally.
