Dumbledore couldn't believe it when he saw that name glowing in blood red and outlined in black on Lily's family tree. How could this have happened? How could such a sweet and intelligent girl like Lily possibly be descended from her? The old wizard closed his eyes for a second and then opened them hoping that it was all just a dream. Sadly, the name, that damming name, was still on the family tree. Knowing that he couldn't put it off any longer, Dumbledore defeated said, "Lily Potter ne Evans' great-great-great-grandmother is Hild, Queen of Niflheim and lord of all demons."
Instantly, the assembled wizards broke out into a panic. Wizards weren't exactly religious people, but they were aware that gods and demons existed. There were even a few rituals crafted to summon a goddess or demon to fulfill certain tasks. However, wizards had stopped using those types of rituals centuries ago since most deities didn't want to deal with magical people and demons tended to hold all the cards when it was time to make a deal.
The wizards were also afraid of demons and gods for another reason. This fear boiled down to one simple reason: power. Even a third class deity could wipe the floor with dozens of powerful wizards. Naturally, many wizards hated this and adopted an out of mind, out of sight policy when it came to the heavenly and the hellish.
Dumbledore slumped into his seat as the bickering continued on. There was no way the the council would be able to keep Lily's heritage a secrete. By tomorrow, everyone would know that Lily and Harry had demonic blood flowing through their veins. That was going to be a PR nightmare, Dumbledore was sure of that. About the only good thing that Lily being descended from Hild was the fact that it would at least sooth the Purebloods' ruffled feathers.
