Misery Chick, Pig-Tailed Warrior: Exploring The House (With A Stop In The Laundry Room!) [Episode 215217]

by Guardinal

Groowl!

A threatening movement from out of the corner of his eye!

Ranma skated to one side, arm moving into a back-handed swipe at the incoming monster!

Only to realize the 'monster' was actually one of the life-size ceramic tigers dotting the room. The threatening growl had been a jock, not a demon.

For a long heartbeat, Ranma seriously considered showing the joker the error of his ways.

Daria, standing next to Ranma, watched in disbelief as Ranma's eyes became slitted once more. For a moment, when he realized there was no danger, they almost returned to normal, but then she saw him focus on the prankster. His eyes narrowed, and the slit became even more pronounced then before.

Daria didn't think of herself as brave, but she found herself tugging on the pig-tailed teen's arm, pulling him away from maiming the moron who was too stupid to know better.

"Food, remember?" said Daria. "And then we'll check out the rest of the house. There can't be tiger's in every room, can there?"

Ranma hesitated, before Jane took his other arm. Finally, he allowed himself to crack a grin and be led towards the waiting food.

Mack let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "Man, you are one lucky moron," he said to the snickering jock.

"Are you kidding? Did you even see what just happened?" asked the joker, irritated that Mack wasn't amused by his daring and wit.

"Yeah," said Mack simply. "In particular, I saw that you didn't arrive at this party in a ripped shirt." Shaking his head, Mack walked away.

The jock contemplated the three parallel cuts in his shirt, only to jump when the ceramic tiger which had taken the brunt of Ranma's attack crumbled into pieces.

Ranma was leaning against a wall, listening to the party with his eyes closed when Jane found him a little while later. Daria was standing next to him, also with her eyes closed, but she was merely bored out of her mind and wondering how long until she could leave.

"Hey, c'mon, she said," grabbing Ranma by the hand. "I found a room you could have your eyes open in," chirped the artist. "Which is the good news. The bad news is you can only stay in there for seven minutes."

"Why's that?" asked Daria, who'd followed them.

Jane guided Ranma through a door, before pushing Daria in as the other girl hesitated. The artist finished her work by blocking the door with a handy chair as she chuckled to herself. "Oh, you'll figure it out."

"Why did you do that?" asked Brittany, popping up at Jane's shoulder.

"And why won't Ranma just bust out?" asked Jodi at the other shoulder.

"Three reasons," smirked Jane. "First, because it's funny. Second, I've been wondering what team the boy is hitting for. And Third, if anyone could use a good snog, it's Daria, probably followed by Ranma."

Brittany and Jodi shared a look before nodding.

"Un-hunh."

"I hear that."

"And Ranma won't just bust out because he's too polite. Unless he freaks out or something, he knows I'll be back in seven minutes to let them out. So he'll wait."

Seven minutes later:
