Pluto's Plague: Port Of Call [Episode 216562]

by Kestral

In the hospital, watched by many watchful eyes, Ranma activated his Talent for the first time and it was obvious that he was NOT going to be held in one place.

JAUNT! was a fair approximation of the sound it made as air was displaced by the little boy disappearing. Also disappearing was his bed.

The bed was spotted quickly enough. Apparently the TV had been showing a documentary about a martial arts style being taught in this spot near Kyoto. That Ranma was out of the bed and watching the martial arts match currently underway was also well noted by a large number of people.

JAUNT!

Which was followed by little Ranma Saotome disappearing before he could be dogpiled and appearing a dozen meters away.

"Cooooooooooooooool," was Ranma's summation when he realized what he was doing.

JAUNT! back to the hospital room. JAUNT! back to Kyoto. JAUNT! Statue of Liberty JAUNT! Eiffel Tower JAUNT! Atop Big Ben in London. JAUNT! Great Pyramid at Giza. JAUNT! Riding a very startled lion in Kenya. JAUNT! Back to the hospital, where a Doctor Kumori Mizuno managed to grab him as he tried to grab his water bottle. JAUNT! A very startled Doctor Mizuno looked around at what she was later able to determine was a beach in Bermuda. JAUNT! Oslo, Norway. JAUNT! Grand Canyon. JAUNT! Panama Canal.

"Ranma's Talent makes it impossible to hold him to one place, unless we sedate the hell out of him," complained the hospital administrator.

"Class A Psychoporter," said a police officer detailed to head security around the boy. "Anywhere on Earth instantly. We can't possibly keep him safe from any other assassins that might be out there."

"He can teleport quite a lot of material with him too, as long as he's in physical contact with it," said an exhausted-looking Doctor Mizuno. "He can even send objects without going himself."

"Yes, when he tried to send you the first time and you, uhm," said the administrator, fidgeting.

"The first time he tried he just sent my clothes you mean," said Doctor Mizuno, wincing at the memory.

"How do you bridle pegasus?" said the officer suddenly, her face indicating an idea gelling.

"Wouldn't work," said the administrator. "If he can teleport just clothing, then he can teleport out of any bindings we put on him."

"You can bridle pegasus by catching his heart," said the officer. "We just need to find someone of the appropriate age who is more responsible."

"Eh?" asked Doctor Mizuno, who'd been yawning and missed part of this but was quite aware of all the looks directed at her.
