Ranma got off of the subway train and quickly walked to his mother's new house. Nodoka had called the Tendo dojo a hour ago saying that she wanted Ranma, and only Ranma, to come over tonight for dinner. She claimed that she just wanted some private time with her son. However, he figured that his mother wanted to talk about his new job. Fifteen minutes after exiting the subway station, Ranma was standing in front of the new Saotome home. A bout of nervousness hit him, but Nerima's premier martial artist forced himself to ring the doorbell. There was no getting out of this, so he might as well face it like a man.
The door quickly opened to reveal Nodoka standing there with a smile and wearing a traditional kimono. Mrs. Saotome pulled her son into a hug and practically shouted out, "Ranma! Thank you for coming." Nodoka then pulled back a bit so that she could look at Ranma and continued on talking. "I just want you to know that this means a great deal to me."
Both Saotomes quickly went inside and Nodoka started to lead Ranma to the dinning room. As they walked Nodoka said, "Oh Ranma, I took the liberty of inviting your future co-star over for dinner tonight. It would do you both some good to get to know each other before filming commenced."
Ranma started to frown when his mother mentioned that little fact. It was one think to talk about her business, but did she half to bring one of her starlets over? Was it really too much to ask for a little time to get use to the idea of acting at N-Class Productions? Knowing his luck, Ranma was expecting his co-star would be some clingy airhead like that kleptomaniac skater or a complete basket case like Kodachi. Hopefully, he could make it through the evening without mortally offending his future costar.
Nodoka discreetly read the emotions on Ranma's face and barely contained her amusement. Ranma would be in such a shock once he met Tea. The duo quickly reached the dinning room where Tea was waiting for them.
Instinct told Ranma that something different was about to happen. To his surprise, Tea got up and calmly walked over until she was in front of him. She gave him a bow and then looked him in the eye as she said, "Hello there. You must be Ranma Saotome. My name is Anzu Mazaki, but I typically am referred to at work by my stage name of Tea Gardner. It doesn't really bother me which name people choose to call me. However I prefer to be called Anzu when out of the studio"
Ranma was completely taken aback by Anzu's modest dress and friendly attitude. Where was the crazy psycho who was supposed to introduce him to the newest level of hell? All Ranma could do was bow and reply, "Ah, It's a pleasure to meet you Anzu."
