Mischief Fragment: Elemental Arrangement [Episode 217620]

"Let's see, why stick with nine?" asked Toltiir, bringing holographic computer screens up everywhere.

"I've got a bad feeling about this," said the Ninetails.

"Why tails? Wouldn't heads be just as good?" asked Toltiir.

"No, actually, I wouldn't think so," said the Ninetails.

"Okay, here we go," said Toltiir, rolling up his sleeves. Well, actually, he rolled up the fur on his forearms.

"That's gross and disgusting you know," said the overly cute playful-looking fox-critter that had formerly been a Ninetailed Demon Fox.

"We're just screwing it all to hob and back," said Toltiir. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

"That's one of the 'Famous Last Words' you know," pointed out the sleek golden Fox.

"Here we go," said the little black cat, now wearing what he considered to be a French director's outfit. Unfortunately he hadn't consulted any actual French directors when selecting his ensemble. "Three sets of Great Beasts."

"Isn't that too confusing?" asked the foxgirl, a little put out by her own outfit. Also that she was now a teenage girl with fox ears and a tail.

"Hmmm. You might be right," said Toltiir. "One major, one minor."

"That's still a bit much," said the little cartoon fox.

"Elemental markers for each of them," said Toltiir, now dressed in the manner of a Renaissance painter and dabbing with various brushes at a canvas.

"This can't end well," said one of the fox's heads to the other.

"Here we go with Gaara of the Sands, who gets the Sandshrew."

"NO POKEMON!" said the Vulpix.

"Awwww," said Toltiir. "No?"

"No," insisted the Ninetails.

"Okay," said Toltiir, way too easily. "We'll go with this."

The Fourth Hokage laid there on his back, looking up at the stars. He'd done it with the last of his energies, but he'd done it.

The Third Hokage stood there with two others. "That's it. We can only try to maintain a balance of power with each of the villages equally powerful."

"Thereby maintaining peace and stability, but it is a precarious balancing act," stated the Fourth with a wheezing rattle in his chest making the words a little hard to understand.

"All we can do is try," said the Third.

"Nine Beasts, Nine Seals. Five nations," pointed out one of the jonin.

"Those are just the ninja nations, there are others," said the Third. "We'll make do."

"The damage to the village is great, but most of the village has survived, and we will rebuild," promised the second of the jonin.

"The thing is that everything will go perfectly normally, without much of a hiccup at all," said Toltiir. "Up until the stealing of the S-rank Scroll."

"Nine elements? How can there be NINE elements?" asked the Fox.

"Fire, Earth, Air, Water," said Toltiir, "are the typical Greek elements. Wood is from the Chinese elements. Void or Aether is also considered a Greek or a Hindi element depending on who you ask it seems. That's six right there. There's also consideration in the Chinese for an element of Metal. Though some seem to consider that more 'state of matter' instead of 'element' - but that might just be that their ability to pigeonhole and categorize is more developed after a few span of years."

"That would be thousands of years, old one," protested the Fox.

"Since the Tailed Beasts, and I'm still tempted to make them Headed Beasts, are now elementally aligned, it isn't until the theft of the S-Rank Scroll that things start to really alter," said Toltiir. "Though now none of you are mindless engines of destruction. Isn't that better?"

"Well, I'll admit it does have its benefits," admitted the Fox. "It doesn't keep me from being summoned and sent to destroy the village though."

"So seven 'states of matter' or elements," said Toltiir as just continuing. "Therefore the other two should go with 'elements of existence' as part of the whole package. N'est-ce pas? Time. In some universes the last would be chi or life-energy, in this one - chakra."

"So I'm the elemental of chakra?" asked the Fox, trying to act bored.

"Oh yes," said the cat slyly. "What do you think it'll be like if Naruto is a major HEALER in this incarnation?"

"Boring," said the Fox.

"Oh, he'll still have the problems with the destructive nature, lots of raw power and all," said Toltiir. "It's just that there's the whole cycles of rebirth and destruction, life and death."

"Well, that doesn't sound so bad," said the Fox.

"Oh, wait till you see THIS," said the cat, demonstrating that he had something up his sleeve. Or rather the rolled up bit of fur acting as a sleeve.
