Dark Requiem: Of Making And Breaking [Episode 220510]

by Linnara

The black feline with the Moon-Mark on it's forehead grinned at the boy wolfishly, purple eyes glinting in the darkness - a strange expression on a cat-thing, to be sure...

"You can call me...Lelouch."

Nunnally stared at the scene in front of her in utter bemusement.

The talking cat was...Lelouch?

And then, the boy called Charles took a shaky breath, and picked up the toy wand that wasn't really a toy...

What came after that was a bewildering whirlwind of scenes - Charles as a Magical Warrior who protected the World, Charles with his - friends? Camarades? An older man (Earl Aspund?), some boys around his own age, a younger girl with glasses in a wheelchair, and a slightly older laughing girl on the motorcycle, dark-haired and purple-eyed (Mother??), and -

And then, their was a touch on her arm.

Nunnally turned around, and looked into the eyes of her brother. Yes, this was her brother Lelouch, who'd she loved, and who loved her -

"Nunnally."

"Yes."

"I am sorry."

Nunnally took a deep breath. "...Alright, Brother."

"But it had to be done, I thought. Well, we thought. And now - "

Lelouch smiled, sadness and triumph oddly mixed together.

"And now, I shall deal with the House that Charles built!"

The first one to appear was, oddly enough, a semi-transparent Clovis, who looked at both Lelouch and Nunnally with an expression of extreme annoyance before tossing something yellow-gold and shiny in their general direction.

One Rainbow Crystal

The next one was a half-transparent Euphemia, still in the dress she'd died in (but strangely unbloodied). She smiled at both at them sadly while holding out a pick crystalline something, something that looked like some kind of Cup floating besides her -

Two Rainbow Crystals. And the Grail

The half-transparent girl with orange hair who appeared next wasn't somebody Nunnally recognized. The crystal she held out sparkled with a happy orange light. It was only when Lelouch made a strange sound in his throat that she realized that this must be - what was her name, Shirley, yes... But what was that shiny thing that looked like some kind of horn, floating above her?

Three Rainbow Crystals, The Grail and the Golden Crystal

The person who appeared next was male - ahh, yes, Rolo, the boy who looked so very oddly like Nunnally herself... He looked directly at her brother, holding out something that looked like a grey-blue crystal. Her brother nodded at him, tightly.

Four Rainbow Crystals, The Grail and the Golden Crystal

And then - Nunnally gasped as her half-brother Schneizel appeared right in front of them. He - he hadn't been excuted yet, had he? There was supposed to be a little more time, at least - but no, he was...different from the other people floating in the darkness here, not as transparent.

Lelouch reached out to him, palm up, and Schneizel kneeled before him, holding - something - out. This wasn't a crystal, no - this was - a mirror?

And then Lelouch held out his hand, and - Nunnally bit back a groan to see what appeared there. It was the sword, the very sword that -

And the expression that appeared on Lelouch's face was terrible, indeed.

"Five Rainbow Crystals, the Grail, the Golden Crystal, the Mirror, and the Sword. Aye, Father, Mother?"

"And what of the Orb?"

Nunnally shuddered, seeing the images of her - parents, well, they were that, yes, she supposed, even if they hadn't done such a good job of that kind of things at all if she understood things correctly - appear in the darkness. Charles di Britannia's words sounded rusty, somehow, like he'd forgotten how to use language to communicate.

"That is not really needed at this point in time, is it not? "

Lelouch stopped. A very hazy image of a young-looking woman with green hair had appeared before him, collapsed on the floor of what appeared to be a chapel of some sort. And from her hazy body, something round and red was raising into the air...

"Hmm. Well, it cannot hurt, I suppose..."

"And what of the Glaive, son of mine?"

That was Marianne, smiling slyly.

"As if I would - misplace - that, Mother.

So. Five Rainbow Crystals, the Grail, The Golden Crystal, the Mirror, and the Sword, the Orb and finally, the Glaive. What say you?"

Marianne chuckled at that, and then threw a smoky purple crystal at Lelouch's head. He managed to catch it, barely.

Charles simply nodded at that.

"Father?"

"...Take it from me, then, boy. If you can."

"Very well, then." Lelouch snickered. "We shall begin."
