Father?"
Charles di Britannia nodded, expressionless to the end.
"...Take it from me, then, boy. If you can."
"Very well, then." Lelouch snickered coldly. "We shall begin."
Six Rainbow Crystals, the Grail, The Golden Crystal, the Mirror, and the Sword, the Orb and finally, the Glaive
But where was this...Glaive? Nunnally looked around her, feeling like she was missing something - and then realized, with a gasp, that something was happening to her half-brother - the one that technically wasn't supposed to be dead yet, that is.
"Schneizel!"
He was starting to give off sparks, and was becoming more transparent even as she watched.
"Nunnally? Ahh. It is all right, Nunnally..."
Nunnally didn't think so at all, frankly.
"But...Brother!"
Lelouch looked back at that. "Schneizel. I...do not have any more use for you. You may...rest, if you so wish."
"Yes, sir." Schneizel whispered, mindless adoration in his voice. Nunnally groaned.
Nunnally grabbed her much taller half-brother, utterly heedless of decorum for once.
"Brother! Brother, don't die - " And she really didn't want him to die, oddly enough, even though she was pretty sure both he and she herself did deserve to die - "Lord Maldini would be sad, wouldn't he? And I would be, too, so, don't."
"Kanon." Schneizel murmured. "Yes, but I - he'll be all right, I hope..."
Lelouch's voice interupted them, softly. "However, if you do live on, for whatever reason - keep to your standing orders."
Schneizel blinked at that. "Yes, sir."
Nunnally groaned yet again, wondering what to do.
"Brother - Schneizel, do you want to die?"
"I... It would be easiest for everybody, would it not? Kanon would be all right, I made arrangements..."
In a corner of this strange dark space, Charles di Britannia snorted.
"Idiot. To think that any of mine could be so - so... flimsy. Even Odysseus would at least be trying, if he was in your shoes..."
Marianne chuckled, softly and darkly.
"Well, considering that the pretty much the only reason he ended up with Kanon Maldini in the first place was that he was pretty sure that you'd disapprove, Charles..."
"He's an idiot. I didn't hesitate when you crossed my path, commonor or no commoner..."
"Yes, yes." Marianne murmured.
Nunnally stared at both of them. So Schneizel and Lord Maldini were really - um. Oh. Well, she'd suspected - things, but...
"See? Even his Majesty - former Majesty - Lord Father thinks that Lord Maldini's good for you. So hold on, alright?"
Schneizel looked at Charles and Marianne, and then back at her, his expression slightly quizzical.
"...If you so wish, Nunnally vi Britannia."
"I do so wish. So there!"
Lelouch chuckled, hearing his sister's words.
"Do what you want, Schneizel."
He'd been almost sure that Schneizel would simply choose to end everything once it came to this point, but - no?
And anyway - he had to finish what he started.
"Six Rainbow Crystals, the Grail, The Golden Crystal, the Mirror, and the Sword, the Orb and the Glaive. And now - "
Nunnally looked on unbelievingly as her brother stook his hand into his own chest, and started pulling something out.
"And now - Seven Rainbow Crystals - "
Lelouch's crystal was purple and gold and threaded with green, somewhat like Marianne's, but not really.
"And with all the Crystals of the Rainbow, I summon the Silver Crystal!"
Nunnally gasped. Someplace in the swirling darkness, somebody was...
Somebody was laughing.
And then the light overwhelmed everything.
"There is not enough power left to make everything the way they were before - and even if there was, it would not be right destroy What Is Now to recreate What Was Then, I think. However, even with what little energy that is left in this pretty shining rock -"
Something was changing, shifting, connecting. Energy-lines flying about helter-skelter, long unused rusty things coming online again -
And so I dismantle the House that Charles made -
Something was shifting under the World, new patterns emerging as energy was redirected -
Guardians, Awaken!!
