Guardians, Awaken!!
Kouzuki Kallen blinked, as did Gino Weinberg next to her. What?
Guardians, Awaken!!
Lloyd Asplund leaned back in his prison cell, a bittersweet smile on his lips.
Cecile Croomy was shaking her head. "What was that? Did you hear that?"
And Nina Einstein smiled chillingly, with a dose of insanity enough to give grown men nightmares.
Guardians, Awaken!!
A green-haired figure groaned on the chapel floor. The marks on her forehead were starting to change and shift, though there was nobody there to witness this.
Guardians, Awaken!!
Ougi and Villetta both looked up at the same time, though neither knew what the other was doing.
Something was shifting, changing, Reality itself was going hazy, but nothing frightened Gilbert G.P. Guilford then the sight of his liege lady going semi-transparent as she turned to look at him -
"My lady! Lady Cornelia!"
But then - then something pink came drifting down from the skies he couldn't see too well anymore, and there was a strangely familiar chuckle -
"Oh, Cornelia. Well, there still should be enough charge left in here to keep you solid for a good long while, I suppose..."
Gilbert gawked, then. He couldn't help it.
"...L-L-L...Lady...Euphemia?"
"Hello, Sir Guilford. Don't worry, my sister will be all right."
Euphemia smiled, poking what appeared to be a small pink crystal towards where her sister should be. It quickly turned more purple then pink as Cornelia became more solid - the color of Cornelia's hair, in fact.
Um, but you're dead, your highness.
"Don't worry, Sir Guilford - things will be all right, really!"
Gilbert gaped as the dead Princess grinned and waved and disappeared from his sight, only to see his liege lady looking somewhat dazed, if very much solid, much to his relief.
"What's wrong, Sir Guilford - Gilbert? I feel...strange..."
You almost just disappeared when Reality reset itself a bit, My Lady. It was scary. And then Lady Euphemia...
No, no, that wouldn't be the right thing to say at all, would it now? Especially at a time like this.
It was time to charge the moving throne, after all.
Kanon Maldini clung to Schneizel el Britannia with all his might.
He couldn't figure out for the life of him just how he'd managed to get here - he'd thought he was supposed to be in prison, after all - and that 'Guardians, Awaken!!' thing was noisy as hell, but he had his priorities, and for the moment, all the top-ranking ones had 'Schneizel' someplace in them, so there.
"Your Highness! Stop disappearing on me!"
Schneizel looked at him blankly, and then smiled.
"Kanon."
"Your Highness..."
"No, I...wanted to say goodbye. Properly. - Thank you."
"You can stay here and say it as much as you want, Sir!"
Schneizel shook his head. "I don't think so...not enough left..."
There was a snort from behind him. Kanon ignored it.
The arm coming right through him was much harder to ignore, however.
Kanon chocked as Clovis la Britannia simply walked through him, easel in hand, and smacked his half-brother on the head with it. Well, that was what he tried to do, anyhow - it is hard to smack people with immaterial things, after all.
"Idiot. Even I tried harder to keep on living. Here."
The yellow-gold crystal changed color as it was absorbed into Schneizel's body, turning platinum.
"Well, then. What about a 'Thank you', eh? No?"
Schneizel was frozen where he was - Kanon wondered if he was breathing, quite frankly.
"I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Prince Clovis."
"Oh, whatever. Goodbye, then." Clovis waved airily, walking off into nothingness.
"Oh, by the way..."
Kanon groaned. "Yes, Prince Clovis?"
"Things are going to get pretty hellish for you - people - for a while, but still...it could have been worse. Much, much worse. Mark my words."
"...Yes Sir. Thank you."
"Good, then. Farewell."
And when Kanon opened his eyes next, Clovis was gone.
