‘Get up. Are you going to let that kid get away with that insult?’ the voice of wisdom (or at least, Wiseman) whispered to Ryoga?
“No!” Ryoga cried as he picked himself off the ground. “You, Boy, stop right there! How dare you steal my lunch!?”
“Hey, I don't see your name on it,” Ranma protested around a bite of curry bread. “It was a free for all!”
“Nobody steals my bread and gets away with it!” Ryoga growled as he ignored the voice of reason in favour of the voice of Wiseman. “I will have satisfaction for the insult of the curry bread!”
“Oi, Ryoga's been watching the Three Musketeers again,” someone in the audience stage whispered.
“Yeah, whatever,” Ranma smirked and swallowed the rest of her breakfast. “I'm Ranma Saotome, heir to the ...”
“Ranma!?” Ryoga growled as a his battle aura flared into darkness. “Prepare to die!”
“What the...?” Ranma exclaimed as she dodge the furious lunge. She was expecting a fight, but his rage seemed a tad excessive. “What's with you? It's just curry bread.”
“You fool!” Ryoga thundered. “This isn't about curry bread! This is about revenge! You'll pay for everything you've done to me!”
“What are you talking about?” Ranma demanded as she wove through the boy's punches. “I don't even know who you are!”
“How dare you pretend to have forgotten! I'm your worst enemy, no, your nemisis! I am Ryoga Hibiki, and in the name of revenge, I will punish you!”
Ranma frowned thoughtfully as she dodged another series of rabid blows. “Nope, never heard of you.”
“Why you!” Ryoga raged impotently then broke off the attack to reach for his headband. “I'll make you remember. Mars Burning Bandana!!!”
“Woot?!” Ranma exclaimed as the tossed bandana ignited and flew passed her hastilly moved head. “How the ...?” but further questions were cut off as she became busy preventing anything else from being cut off. The gathered crowd was suddenly parted as they dove for cover. Burning bandanas sliced through anything they touched and torched the furniture.
“Watch where you throw those things!” Ranma yelled. “Someone could get hurt!”
“That's the idea!” Ryoga roared as he used Ranma's distraction to deliver a sucker punch, sending the girl flying into a wall.
“This is no place to fight!” Ranma yelled as she headed for a less populated and enclosed area.
“Come back here, you coward!” Ryoga cried. “Do you think you can escape Ryoga Hibiki that easily? I'll hunt you down to the ends of the Earth!”
‘That's the spirit!’ Wiseman approved. ‘But you only have to go to out the playground. No. No! Turn left. Left I said!’
Despite Wiseman's frustrated instructions Ryoga's blind charge was only halted when a rock bonked off of his head.
“Oi! Hi-baka!” Ranma cried. “Over here!”
“Ah ha!” Ryoga screamed triumphantly. “See? There is no where you can hide from me!”
“Hide?” Ranma asked in bewilderment and looked around the evacuated playground. “You're an idiot,” she diagnosed.
Predicatably, Ryoga raged and charged. Unpredicatable he pulled off his belt and swung it. The material stiffened as it swung and on a cry of “Mars Fire Swordbelt!” it ignited into a blaze.
“Got it.” Ranma exclaimed with belated insight as she dropped under the blade of fire and material. She winced at the flash of heat as it passed uncomfortable close to her chest. As she lept over the backswing, which scorched a path through the earth, she explained, “you're the one who has Genie Mars!”
“That's right,” Ryoga gloated. “And with the power of Mars, I shall punish you! Prepare to die!!”
“Silence Shield!” Ranma cried and blocked Ryoga's magic enhanced attack with with a counter move. The firey blade was stoped as if it had hit an invisible buckler, which it had. “Heh! You're not the only one who can draw on his genie's power!”
‘I suggest a tactical retreat!’ Wiseman paniced, ‘Now!’. He did not want his vessle to face an opponent who could use even a small fraction of Saturn's power - especially not one who could improvise attacks as if they were martial arts moves. Discovering that ability in Ryoga had pleased him in a way that discovering it in Ranma certainly did not.
“It doesn't matter!” Ryoga decried, for once too enraged to hede Wiseman's sly council. “I will crush you with my bare hands if I have to!”
“Like that'll happen,” Ranma mocked.
“Ranma!” Saturn cried as she ran over to him in concern. She'd felt him draw on her power and he was usually too proud to call on it in a real fight. “What's happening?”
“Saturn! Stay back!” Ranma warned. Even after training together, or because of it, Ranma still tended to think of his genie as a weak little girl and not a powerful pretty warrior genie.
“You can't hide behind your genie, coward!” Ryoga accused and thrust out a ringed fist. “Mars Genie Release!”
Genie Mars appeared before him inside a burst of flame.
