"This game really does not seem to like me, does it," came the annoyed growl in response to the sight of the space reading 'Lab of the Mad Scientist, draw one Weird Science Effect'.
Ukyo gave the body displaced gymnast a smirk. "Did you really expect it to give you something else?"
"I could hope that this would actually give me a chance to get through the game without a mass of hassles."
"Oh, is this going to be a problem?" Kasumi asked, her voice tinged with concern.
"Surely you jest."
"That's good then, now isn't it?"
Peering over the board, Nabiki recognized that they could not expect a free pass to just show up for them. It was highly unlikely that they would be able to get a direct shift to the goal, which meant that they would have to slog through who knew how many possible oddities before reaching the end. Of course, there was no guarantee that they would be safe once someone one, as they couldn't be sure as to what would happen when the goal would be reached.
"Okay, we can't count on the game playing 'nice' with us, which means that there's only one way to get through this," the middle Tendo daughter told the others. "And that means that we have to keep our heads about us, without trying to take advantage of what is going on. No rushing into the situation either, since that would be worse than you guys usually make it."
"Like I'd ever go and do anything rash," Akane grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest in a huff.
"Why ever would I do something that would be considered inelegant?" Kodachi-in-Ryoga asked no one in particular. "I am ever a symbol of patience and grace."
Shampoo merely let her brow furrow in confusion. "Shampoo only do things as warrior pride dictate."
"It's not like I'm a hot head, sugar," Ukyo drawled.
"You all do realize that we've got two people in each other's bodies, my little sister looking like a top heavy Barbie doll, a catgirl and my big sister doing a pinup," Nabiki muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose. "It's kind of easy to understand where I'm coming from, now isn't it?"
This time, her pronouncement was met by blank stares and silence.
Closing her eyes and heaving a great big sigh, the middle Tendo daughter lowered her head. "Fine. Whatever. Kodachi, would you get on with it?"
"When did you start giving me orders?" the body displaced rich girl demanded.
"Ever since it fell to me to remind you that it's still your turn, and you have a card to pick."
"Ah, yes," Kodachi-in-Ryoga allowed, reaching over to lift the top card, which read:
