Mischief Fragment - legacy: poking around [Episode 221573]

Bounti frowned. That Dark Elf was one she'd recognized. Sure, they all looked alike to her - mostly. She couldn't be absolutely sure it was the same one she'd last seen wearing a thick collar and being forced to crouch on the ground, grovelling beneath the boot of a superior.

She'd just check it out the next time she interacted with the Dark Elven hive. As she understood it, their society involved a lot of backstabbing with temporary alliances and that sort of thing. It could be just another minor upheaval among the rank and file after all.

"Right," said the Nurse Joy, glancing to her colleague before returning her attention to the Dark Elf.

The Jenny decided it was her turn. "We'll return the Cheetawny to her trainer and Quick-E Pizza. The Driad we don't know anything about. No missing person report matching her description. She could be out of the area, but it might take some time for a Psychic type to get the details."

"That's good," said Dark Elf.

"Has he given you a name yet?" asked the Joy.

"No, I hope it's a cool one," said Dark Elf. "He's a bit young yet. He'll probably want to take time finding a good one."

A pair of feline ears flicked up from behind a bookcase.

"He's that dimension traveller the psychic and magic types picked up on earlier today?" asked the Joy.

A pokegirl who'd been walking out the door to the facility nearly veered off into the wall before deciding that the bulletin board had some fascinating details.

"Yes. How soon will the other two..." began Dark Elf, who then whirled around, trying to spot any eavesdroppers. Was that a pair of ears sticking up over there? Had that decorative fern moved? Wasn't that one girl standing there reading the same job notice as from earlier? Was that shadow a little thicker than it should be?

"They should be ready soon, there were only minor injuries though there were some old problems that could be fixed," said the Joy, ignoring the sort of comedic happenstance that usually seemed to pop up with unattached boys and young pokegirls. "Maybe another five minutes."

The Dark Elf frowned at nothing in particular. Or rather at one shadow that she suspected was not actually a shadow.

"So, details on the Trainer?" asked Officer Jenny as she filled out the paperwork.

"Fourteen years of age," began the Dark Elf, reluctantly turning her back on the potential problem. She had to make sure there was nothing to hold her back from her Big Chance after all.

"And so, Master and Mistress, I return your others to you," said Dark Elf. "Are you going to name me now?"

"Uhm, I guess," said Naruto, not sure at all about any of this.

"What about 'Yuri'? For the white hair," asked Hinata, who then blushed and twiddled her fingers when both Naruto and the Dark Elf looked at her.

"Yeah, that sounds good," said Naruto, figuring a girl would know what a good name for a girl was.

The Dark Elf tapped a few things on a device, registering her new name and determining via the dictionary that it meant a type of flower known as a 'Lily' which was associated with funerals. How terribly appropriate.

"Okay," said Naruto, holding up his arms. A circle of silver fire surrounded him and the various girls.

What Yuri had dreaded and surprised Naruto was when something came leaping out of the brush to land inside that circle.
