"Oh of course, that Uchiha is THAT way - well, that's obvious," said old woman #2.
Hinata just went over the produce, registering that two old women were gossiping - but as it was about Sasuke Uchiha it didn't concern her a whole lot. The girl over there by the lettuce had stiffened though, so she was probably one of the fanclub. Hinata didn't know what they saw in Sasuke anyway.
"Well, maybe not, he DID kiss that young Hyuga girl," said old woman #1.
"It was just jealousy," said old woman #2. "That Hinata girl could do a LOT better than that kid Uzumaki, but didn't we all make mistakes like that at that age?"
Hinata ducked her head, refuting the whole argument internally and NOT wanting to be seen.
"You sure about that?" asked old woman #1. "That Uzumaki boy has that pactio ability. I've heard it turns out his mother was actually the princess of some foreign ninja village."
"Could be," said old woman #2. "Doesn't get around that that Uchiha boy is just like his big brother."
"He's going to kill off his family and leave the village to join a worldwide criminal organization that seeks to dominate the world of softporn?" asked old woman #1.
"No, well, maybe," said old woman #2. "That older brother wore makeup a lot before he went bad. Hung around strange guys. Had a few girls who wanted to check out the rest of his body for being as special as those eyes, but he had no time for them. Preferred young boys, you know."
Hinata tried to pay attention solely to the produce. Not pay attention to the old women. Nor the girl who'd been edging steadily closer.
"You don't suppose the Uzumaki kid goes that way?" asked old woman #1.
"Maybe he won't start out that way, but if that Sasuke boy pursues him..." said old woman #2, apparently eager to suggest certain things.
Hinata felt her heart fall down into her stomach. He couldn't. Could he?
"What about the fangirls?" asked old woman #1 while she was otherwise inspecting an eggplant. "Are they just watching for the yaoi possibilities, or are they out to rescue their idol from the clutches of another man?"
"A bit of both I think," said old woman #2. "Haven't heard much from them."
Hinata crept slowly towards the door. Inside though, she was burning with the fires of determination. She had to rescue Narato from being a boy's boytoy!
Wiping excess disinfectant from his mouth with one hand, Sasuke looked at the card in his other hand. There was him, looking serious and cool, per normal.
