As it was, he'd actually worked with Naruto briefly on a couple of occasions. Both had been getting himself out of trouble with girls caused by things that Uncle Genma had set up. So it wasn't unthinkable that he'd consider hiding out there.
Sasuke leapt from roof to roof, swung over railings, and spent a few moments hiding as a search party went by.
He had absolutely no desire to prove that he couldn't do a pactio. Kiss just one girl and the rest would demand their own turn. And more. Oh yes, he could see the situation devolve in rapid progression if he got caught just once.
"My Sasuke-radar is going off!" declared some girl, holding a device high.
ka-chunk!
"Ah, someone threw a kunai through my Sasuke-radar!" wailed the girl.
Sasuke backed away and circled around. That device just HAD to go.
"It was over this way!" declared the girl.
Sasuke paused, finally deciding to take off his shirt and partially hide it, then bolt. The girls should find that, come to the conclusion that their fiendish device didn't work right, and he could later sneak into that girl's workshop and start a fire or something.
Of course, that meant he was going shirtless but it was a warm evening and that wasn't a big problem. He'd have to have these bandages changed though. As Naruto had been halfway competent putting the back ones on, that weighed the hiding place he had in mind even more in that favor.
Sakura stepped past Hinata Hyuga, who had passed out for some unknown reason.
"What happened to her?" asked Ino, noting the expression of shock and horror on the young girl's face.
"Who can tell?" asked Sakura. "Are you sure about this?"
"Yeah, it's an indirect kiss but if it gives me a power up, I'll be able to capture Sasuke's attention," said Ino.
"Yeah, right," said Sakura. "The curtain's open partway. We can check and make sure he's there."
"Okay, then I..." Ino looked into the cracked-open window and abruptly her ponytail went stiff and pointed skyward.
"What? What did you see?" asked Sakura.
Ino slowly turned, her face ashen. "Gak. Urk." THUMP!
"What the heck?" asked Sakura, looking down at Ino. And why was Ino bleeding from the nose?
Slowly and carefully, Sakura peeked in the window. Oh. There was Sasuke. WIth his shirt off. Sitting on the edge of Naruto's bed. Oh, was that all?
What?
Sakura edged closer, listening but feeling faint. It couldn't be what she thought, right?
"Girls are such a pain," said Sasuke's voice.
"I can see where you'd think that," replied Naruto's voice. "Hold still, would you?"
THUMP!
