"Let's stick around for an hour or two at least, Soun," Genma responded to his friend's words, sounding oddly sensible to his son. "It's been a long trip."
"But weren't we going to give them some time alone to get used to each other?" Soun commented, his brow furrowing as he spoke.
"I do understand that part...."
"Then why not give them the chance to settle in and figure out what positions they'd be in. After all, it isn't like he needs to pick only one of them right away to be his one and only."
Nabiki gave her parent a flat look as she whispered. "Are you even thinking before you speak?"
"Eh?"
"In any case, old friend, there is no reason to rush off right away," the Saotome patriarch drawled.
Frowning slightly, the other father regarding his friend with a sigh. "True enough, but what could you want to do here that is so important?"
"Like I said, it has been a long trip. Do you realize how long we've been traveling just today? I'm tired, and would like to have some time to catch my breath."
"There is that...."
"On top of that, do you know how long it's been since I've used a washroom?"
"Well, I wouldn't want to cause you physical problems."

"Is she that concerned with the manners of being a host?" Rei asked, her flat tones devoid of any censure.
"More like she needs to do well for those she considers to be under her care."
"Such as us?"
"Like everyone."
"At least she doesn't seem to be a bad sort," Ranma murmured to no one in particular.
"Of course," the Tendo patriarch stated, and then turned to look at his friend. "It does seem that we won't be leaving all that quickly after all."
"You'll find that such a thing doesn't bother me all that much, Tendo," Genma admitted as he planted himself at the family room table.
"I suppose so."
"Besides, there isn't a set schedule for us to leave, so why not take advantage of this time to relax?"
Agreeing with his father wasn't exactly something that Ranma went out of his way to do, so when it did happen like this, he was a bit surprised that it was possible. However, he was also not going to complain about it, given that there were plenty of reasons for him to stay right where he was. Seeing as he hadn't come rushing there to drag a bunch of girls away from their home, even if they were his new slaves, leaving wasn't all that welcome a situation.
Heck, if nothing else, those cookies that Kasumi was bringing back on a tray looked really good, and a snack did sound good right about then, while:
