"An excuse for being gone for a human lifetime to start," said Toltiir.
"Less than a century," said the Black. "Big deal."
"If you play your cards right, it could be three centuries," said Toltiir.
"That might be long enough for Her to calm down a bit," mused the Red.
"Always the optimist," chuckled the Green.
"That's enough from you, it's your fault after all," rumbled the Black. "Just had to go sampling the merchandise."
"They were just sitting around," protested the Green. "How was I supposed to know that She had plans for later."
"Cause She's Takhesis, She's always got plans, and she's got a temper that makes entire continents go belly up," pointed out the Red.
"I want longer," said the Blue, breaking into the conversation. "I've had naps longer than a human lifetime."
"I could use a break from being around these blokes," admitted the Red.
"Well," said Toltiir. "I could put in something about transferring through a bloodline. That way he could pass you on to his kids."
"That still puts us sealed inside the one kid for a few decades," noted the Red. "How about a transference ability?"
"Oh?" asked Toltiir, sensing the increased interest from the others. "What exactly did you have in mind?"
"What is this, Hokage-sama?" asked Hiashi Hyuga.
"THIS is the most monstrously complicated seal I've ever worked out," said the Yellow Flash, aka Fourth Hokage. "That's why I've called you away from the front line to hear me out. When I leave here I will use the forbidden jutsu Shiki Fuujin. When that goes off, the beasts that swatted aside the Demon Fox will no longer threaten our village, but I will be dead and the beasts will be sealed inside a child. If he dies before adulthood and mastering those beasts, they'll be freed to destroy much of our world. However, this is my child, and I expect all of you to treat him as a hero as he will be saving the village."
"You're going to put THOSE in a child?" asked Hiashi. "Damn, and people say that I'd make a lousy father."
"Well, you ARE a bit of a cold fish," put in the Nara head, before pointing at a particular section. "What's with that?"
"The ability, once he's reached puberty, to share the power and burden, with up to four others," said Minato. "I'm in a bit of a hurry so there's some problems with that."
"Problems?" asked the weaponsmith among the group, his one year old daughter safely at home. Heck, only reason he was even here was to deliver new kunai and ninja-wire.
"Yin and Yang," said Minato. "Naruto's male, so those he'd have to link up with would be female. He retains the seal of the beasts so they'd periodically return to him. However, every time he renews the pact, it would give a measure of the power and elemental ability of the one of the five with the closest affinity to the temporary host. There's more but unfortunately, we have no time. If the beasts were more interested in fighting us than each other, I couldn't have given THIS much time to you."
"Was this really a good idea?" asked the Red, moving to the front of his enclosure.
"I got this 'cable TV' thing, it looks interesting," said the Black.
"We pulled a fast one on an elder god," said the Green. "That's gotta count for something. After all, if we can make this gig last long enough, then She will find NEW consorts and we'll be off the hook."
"Yeah, but there's no elves for you to snack on," said the Red.
"Eh, there's more than one way to eat an elf," said the Green.
"I'm fond of elves myself," rumbled the Blue. "And if you ever go near mine again, I shall thrash you so severely Takhesis herself may feel moved to pity you."
"It was just the once," grumped the Green.
"You and your hobbies," said the Red.
"You simply cannot appreciate the subtleties of the moe," said the Blue.
"Never mind you lot," said the Red, "I'm going to see about this videogame system I've got. Maybe there's something interesting in there somewhere."
