Minato grunted as the jutsu went into effect. The shinigami chuckled darkly, reaching out and grabbing the struggling Kyubi and himself, pulling the two of them towards each other. Ripping half the Kyubi's chakra away per the terms of the seal-contract.
"ACCHHOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Bless you," automatically said Minato.
"Oh crap," said the shinigami as things had just gone in a completely wrong direction.
"So what did THAT do?" asked Naruto.
You ended up with your father's soul sealed inside you, was the reply. It could be alone, or with half the Kyubi there.
"Okayyyyyyyyy," said Naruto.
Mind you, I'd have to blunt your future memories, mused the voice. Just to make things interesting. Maybe reduce them to the occasional prophetic dream.
"I'm not too sure about having my dad trapped in my belly," admitted Naruto.
Would a dead god be better? I can get one no problem.
"A dead god?" asked Naruto.
Well, dead by god standards.
"I don't understand," admitted Naruto.
I could use Thor, the god of thunder from a universe where Ragnarok has followed its script. That has a certain appeal since your dad used a 'flying thunder god' attack. I could use Eilistrae, or one of the dead gods from the Realms, mainly because I really didn't care for how that ended up. I could use any of many others who would be more than willing, as alive and sealed in a mortal hero beats the heck out of being dead. Even for a god.
"Well..."
There are ancient and powerful dragons that I could make the same deal with. That might be cool and leave for some amusing situations. Heck, five of Takhesis' consorts are looking for a place to lie low for awhile. They might go for it.
"I don't know," said Naruto after watching images form and fade away. "Can you show me more about-"
