Mischief Fragment - Replay: Interaction Association [Episode 234546]

by Kender

There was so much going on in the playground that Hinata had been unsure of how she could go around it. Nothing was keeping her from heading straight in, but she didn't like to rush into crowds. She just wasn't too comfortable in masses of people, and liked peace and quiet. Of course, she wasn't about to complain, as she did admit that having such life around her was nice. It was simply that she didn't know how to integrate herself into the world around her as much as she'd like.

Yet as she heard a commotion nearby, she perked up, and immediately began to smile once she saw who was causing it.

Already moving as soon as she saw him, Hinata couldn't help but be happy to see Naruto Uzumaki. Just why so many of the adults tended to send wary looks his way wasn't all that clear to her, but then she wasn't trying to figure them out. To a seven year old girl, the very idea that she could understand the strangeness of grownups was rather silly.

In her eyes though, the blond boy was a wonderful example of what she liked in life. He was always so lively, no matter what, and he always tried hard, even if it didn't work out quite as he'd like. Not that it was entirely his fault, as he seemed to have the right idea a lot of the time. If anything, she was more confused about why people did things about him than of what he did himself. Well, just thinking about how how that Sakura girl kept on embarrassing herself around him was rather weird, if she stopped to think about it.

Though, right now, she had better things to think about, as she was already climbing up to where Naruto had scrambled to. Joining him had not been a hard thing to consider, and so she hurried so that she wouldn't miss catching up with him. Doing so was slow going, as she wasn't as sure of her skills as he was, but she was going at it with the sort of firm attitude that she had seen from him.

That wasn't to say that she wasn't a bit out of breath when she finally got up near him.

"Hey, Hinata!" Naruto chirped, grinning as he saw her. "Nice to see you."

"It's... it's good to see you too, Naruto," she murmured, blushing slightly as she did.

"I'm glad that you think so. Didn't think that you'd be looking to come around here though."

"Oh, I didn't come here for much. I... I saw you, and thought that it might be nice to join you."

He smirked a bit and wiped at his face with one hand. "Nice of you like always."

"I don't know about that...."

"C'mon. You're the one who seems to want to not mind just hanging around with me."

"Being around you is fun," Hinata admitted. "And Father shouldn't be able to complain. He told me to 'socialize', whatever that is."

"Then, you want to stick around me?"

"If you'll let me...."

"Great! I mean, I already figured that we were buddies before now," the little boy commented.

"Really?"

"Yup, and now I figure that we're friends. Best friends!"

Her eyes widened as she realized what he was saying. "You think of me like that."

"Sure do. Don't you?"

"Ummm... Yes."

"Then that's what we are. Best buds," Naruto declared, holding out a hand.

"Best friends," she agreed, clasping her hand onto his.

As they stood there, sharing in their friendship, they smiled with each other for a long moment... until some sort of energy covered them both. Their eyes lost focus, and soon an aura of some sort slid from Naruto's form to Hinata. When that happened, the two of them stiffened, almost as if they were rooted to that very instance. However as the flash that shone right then faded, the two of them began to slump, and they slowly slid down to tumble down to the ground.

They still held each other's hands though, and didn't seem to be that hurt from what the first to reach them could see, while:
