They'd been born of that odd Christian faith back nearly nine hundred years previously. The Order of the Temple of Solomon was said to have a number of secrets and to have possessed strange artifacts and magics, however - they had vanished from the scene almost fifty years prior to when she'd become a vampire.
Most of their number, those who had not been put to death for being heathen or for being owed money, had been folded into a group called the Knights Hospitaller.
Evangeline had been bitterly disappointed when her early investigations had led her to discover that their 'secrets' and 'hidden magic' had been baseless rumor at that time.
There was one major problem with naming Ranma's group the Templars, that being that the only temple they had ANY connection to was through Konoka and that was really something that didn't lend itself well to gang activities.
Chachamaru was the one filling out the forms though, and registered the group in as much as a logical fashion as could be managed under the circumstances.

Chachamaru considered the blank sections carefully, scribbled something out for completeness sake, then just went ahead and filed it.
"Huh," said the file clerk, looking over the form after Chachamaru had left.
"What is it this time?" asked the freeman in charge of the office.
"Chachamaru filled this out but didn't put down her own name," pointed out the file clerk.
"That's strange," agreed the freeman. "She's Evangeline McDowell's flunky, ain't she?"
"More of a minion, I'd think," agreed the clerk. "Clan retainer maybe?"
"Go ahead and list Evangeline as a member, and Chachamaru as her retainer under her," said the freeman, shrugging. "It was about time, she's one of the few established students who HASN'T joined a gang."
