Genma sweat as the truancy official stared him down. “The reason your son is not in school because you're training him in martial arts?”
“That's right!” Genma vigorously exclaimed. Stupidly continuing he added “the local dojo has graciously allowed the boy to train there.”
“How long is that to take?”
“About 4 months.” Blindly tripping the verbal trap Genma continued “ but with the boy's skill of picking up techniques that would probably wind up as 3.”
“So then we can expect to see your son in classes tomorrow, and until you move on to other dojos.” The official decided for him. “Lets go fill out the paperwork to enroll him.” Marching Genma to the all boys k-12 academy two streets over from the park he found the Saotomes' camp.
