Keiichi held the phone away from his ear, wincing at the noise level from the phone. Keiichi frowned as the static gave way to an odd tone and replaced the handset. "That's weird."
Keiichi frowned a little more as he heard the windows begin to rattle. "Earthquake?" It wasn't unknown in Tokyo for earthquakes after all.
The earthquake-diagnosis was dropped when a spark appeared in midair and then flickered out.
"What the -?" asked Keiichi.
The spark reappeared, a blue-white dot that sent little electrical crackles out. It widened from a dot to the size of a pea, followed by expanding out to more the size of a softball.
Keiichi leapt for the doorway, then realized what the sharp pain in his ears signified. He knelt in the hallway outside his room, opening his mouth and covering his ears. As the blue-white flickering inside his room intensified, he slowly stuck his head around the corner to see what was happening.
The blue-cored-white ball was larger, and the electrical flares were a continual chain of lightning but the bolts were odd. Watching, he noted in some calm little corner of his otherwise-near-panicked mind, he could see the electrical arcs were actually outlining a humanoid form.
Eventually, the form resolved and he could tell more information about the whatever-it-was. What he couldn't realize at this point was that this was:
