"-and this is the miso ramen, that's also good," said Naruto, pointing to the menu.
"Naruto?" asked Teuchi again.
"-and the tonkotsu ramen, one of my personal favorites," continued Naruto.
"Oh, Naruto," said Ayame as she came out of the back. Then came to a complete stop. "Uhm."
"Eh?" asked Naruto, looking up.
"Naruto... who is your friend?" asked Teuchi now that he had Naruto's attention.
"Oh, this is Yuri," said Naruto.
"Hello!" said the sunglasses-wearing girl in the blue overalls.
"Uhm," said Ayame.
"I'm a Dark Elf," said the girl, standing up so she could bow towards the two. She was guessing based on body language that these two were considered close allies of some kind. She was still having a little trouble understanding human interpersonal relationships - which were a little confusing to someone who'd been raised in a Dark Elf warren. "I think the 'Egg Ramen' would be fine. What kind of egg is used? Not spider I hope."
"No, chicken eggs," said Teuchi as he tried not to think about what kind of spider would lay eggs the size pictured in the menu. Some things he'd much rather not see personally.
"Oh good, I never cared much for the taste of spider eggs," said Yuri with a faint expression of distaste.
"Oh, a 'dark elf'," repeated an obviously confused Teuchi.
"She's a summons," tried Naruto.
"Ah," said Teuchi and Ayame, as THAT concept was known to them and they otherwise hadn't heard anything about the pokegirls yet. As the appearance of a dark brown-skinned pointed-eared white-haired girl was sufficiently different that they hadn't been sure what was going on.
"I'm afraid I don't have too many special attacks at present," said Yuri.
"Well, we got that 'survival training' Kakashi-sensei warned us about tomorrow," said Naruto. "I don't know how much I can teach you overnight."
"What about?" Yuri pointed at a pouch at Naruto's belt.
Ayame was already working on the order, so Teuchi was the only one of them who saw the sphere removed from Naruto's belt.
Then Naruto opened it, there was a blaze of light, and another girl was abruptly standing there next to Naruto.
