Tenten slid smoothly into own stance, gedan no kamae - with the sword held low and prepared.
They moved as one, their bokken clashing again and again and sounding similar to a woodpecker going about its business.
After a few minutes the two separated again, returning to their original poses and places.
"Much better," said Tenten, sounding quite satisfied.
"Barely adequate," remarked Saber.
"Aw, c'mon," protested Naruto.
"You have the basics down, that's as far as I'll grant you."
Naruto spent an entire three seconds sulking about that.
Tenten shuddered as the partial possession ceased and Saber left her body. "I don't think I'll ever get used to that."
"Well, you shouldn't have to," said Naruto with a shrug, putting the wooden sword away and getting out the real sword.
Naruto had gotten his wings when he was six. When he was seven he'd gotten the sword and begun purifying his chakra. Now he was ten, having spent three years working on his ninja skills and his kenjutsu.
Tenten considered the muscular young boy and shook her head. "Look, I'm getting ready for the tests, I'm hoping to graduate soon, so I'm gonna have to scale back our little sparring practices. Once a week at most."
"I hear ya," responded Naruto as he went through some of the stances and attacks, an elaborate kata that he still had some problems with.
"So just practice that, and for kami's sake - try to get your bunshin technique working," said Tenten. "Your henge and kawarimi are fine, but that bunshin is going to be on the exam."
Naruto hmphed. "Got it, big sister."
Tenten rolled her eyes at the expression, then left. Squirt kinda grew on her.
Naruto spent some additional time on the sword-work, then back to his studies in the use of Holy chakra. The Shield technique came easier to him now, but the Heal and Cure seemed to be trickier. If he could demonstrate all three though, his inability to do a clone would be overlooked - he was sure of that!
