"I'm sure that we'll find him soon," Ami told her, "He has to be around here somewhere."
The reincarnated Princess sniffled. "But..."
"What is it?" Rei asked.
"He... he..."
"What is it already?"
"He's been so... so... hurt!"
"Exactly," agreed a voice off to their side.
"Setsuna!" chorused the Inners.
Smirking a bit, the Senshi of Pluto looked over the younger girls. "I take it that you are looking for Ranma."
"Um... yeah," replied Minako.
"A word of advice then?"
"What?"
"Take it easy with him."
"Huh?" went several of the Inners.
"Ranma could be best be described as... skittish around girls."
"Why is that, Sestuna-san?" asked Ami.
"He's not had the best of relationships with girls in the past. For instance, one of his fiancees tended to... vent her anger on him quite readily. Another went from hunting him down for vengence to fiancee in one day. Then there was the one who was rather... forceful in her affections." The Senshi of Time sighed. "And then there were others, like the girl who uses trick powders in her flowers."
"But how could they..?"
"To be fair, none of them knew what his life was truly like. They only had their impressions of said life, and that Ranma tended not to talk about it unless confronted with it did not help."
"So they... hurt him?" asked Usagi softly.
"If they did, it wasn't intentionally... I think. I do, or at least did have some doubts in some cases. But that wasn't the only problem for him regarding girls."
"Like what?" queried Makoto.
"Did you ever see any girls in the report?" At their nods, the tanned woman continued. "He wasn't really exposed to them. As a child, he was so out of sync with the normal knowledge of girls that he thought one of his fiancees, his 'buddy' at the time, was a boy. And then there was the fact that his schooling, or lack there of, had caused problems, which weren't helped when his father put him in places like all boys junior highs."
"I see..," said Ami, "So it was mainly just him and his father?"
"Exactly. And to be complete, one must realize that his father is not the most understanding when it came to girls or the softer emotions."
That drew a surprising snort from the Senshi of Mercury. "That I got from the report. But how do we deal with him then?"
"Listen to him, for one."
"How is that?"
"Most of the people in his life are not what one could call 'listeners'. As a result, his explinations, ill-worded as they are, tend not to be heard, or at the very least, misinterperted."
"So," commented Makoto, "Nobody really talks with him?"
"That's about it, but with recent revelations that may change."
"I have to find him," Usagi said.
With a nod, the Senshi of Time pointed. "The last I saw of him, he was over there."
"Thank you," said the reborn Princess as she lead the Inners in the direction indicated, while:
