"That should do it," Lina said. "This place is now secure from spying."
Naga tapped her fingers on the table. "Lina, why did you leave out Amelia and Mister Zelgadis' relationship?"
"Didn't think it was important. Now then, we have to deal with those stupid bounties. Prince Phil won't be able to do anything about them, since Sairagg is in the Empire of Lyzeille and Sairagg IS the current location for the central headquarters of the Mage's Guild."
Naga said, "Lina, you've been very elsuive about that alterante timeline that you claim that sent you, Gourry, Zelgadis, and my sister back into time. I'd like a bit more detail."
"I agree," Zolf said. "If we were killed facing Shabranigdo, how was he stopped?"
Lina looked away, while Gourry looked at her in concern.
Zelgadis piped up. "Lina. I know that you want to avoid discussing it, but we have to tell them. We have changed the past too much not to let them know what's going on, since it does involve them directly."
Lina nodded and slowly began. "I killed Shabranigdo with a spell I created. The Giga-slave. It is a spell that calls upon a power higher than Shabranigdo or Cephied. The Lord of Nightmares. She is the golden lord who is the source of all chaos. I combined the Giga-slave with Gourry's sword in a desperate attempt to kill the Dark Lord. It worked, but there were consequences of doing so."
Zolf asked, "What sort of consequences? Why don't you use that spell more often?"
Lina closed her eyes. "The spell brings pure chaos into the world. If I lost control of it, the energies would destroy the entire world. The consequences was that I attracted the attention of the Mazoku Dark Lords, especially Hellmaster Phibrizo. He wanted me to cast the Giga-Slave and kill me to have it go wild."
"I'm not going to bother trying to learn that spell then," Zolf whispered to himself, while paling. In a louder voice, he said, "His plan must not have worked then."
Lina shook her head and stared at Zolf. "It worked perfectly. He did kill me and the Giga-Slave did run wild. What he didn't expect was what happened next. I've been told that the Lord of Nightmares took over my body and killed Phibrizo as easily as one of us would squash a bug."
"Uhm Lina?" Naga began. "If you were killed, how can you be here now?"
Lina blushed a bit and replied, "My mind is blank after I lost control of the Giga-Slave. The next thing I knew, I was standing on top of a building in the ruins of Sairagg."
"Why Old Sairagg?" Rodimus asked. "Why not in the current Sairagg."
Amelia piped up. "It was New Sairagg. Since Rezo was part of Shabranigdo when he died, so did the Red Priest. Eris made a copy of Rezo and Kopii Rezo destroyed all of Sairagg and later merged with the Great Beast Zanafar. In that alternate time, Sylphiel is the only survivor of Sairagg. Maybe Zangulus and Vruumugun, but I'm not sure where they are from."
Lina looked away from the table. "We are trying to avoid getting back into fights with Hellmaster, Gaav, Zanafar, and Shabranigdo. If I could get out of it, I'd be ducking the fight with Darkstar/Vorfeed as well. But, that fight is one that has to be fought."
Naga said, "You sure had a lot of adventures after we parted company."
"Honestly Naga, I could live peacefully without the Dark Lords knowing who I am," Lina stated. "I also need more information."
Gourry scratched his head. "Hey Lina, if we are in the past, does that mean Gaav hasn't attacked the Claire Bible yet?"
The other three from the future stiffened and stared at Gourry.
"That's right," Amelia said. "We could get some answers from the Claire Bible or the Manuscript."
Zolf asked, "You know where the Claire Bible is?"
Lina nodded, smiling. "Sure do. It is in the Kataarat Mountians. We could swing up that way to get some information on what happened to us, after dealing with Rezo."
She then frowned. "No matter what, Rezo must not be allowed to open his eyes. I know it sounds cruel, but once he does, Ruby Eye Shabranigdo is reborn. Maybe, Sirius can go to the Claire Bible and find a way to free Rezo from his burden."
The group remained silent for a while. A knocking at the door, told them that someone wished to enter. Lina unlocked the door and let Phil and Sirius into the room.
"I'm afraid I have some bad news for the group. The kingdom of Xoana is planning on attacking Seyruun with their military and Super Golem."
Lina dismissed it with a negligent flip of her hand. "That piece of junk? One good Dragon Slave would get rid of it."
Prince Phil shook his head. "There are no mages in the city that can cast Dragon Slave."
"What do you mean, no mages?" Lina stated angrily. "I'm a mage and I can cast Dragon Slave."
Phil looked at Lina. "I'm going to have to ask a favor of you. I need that golem stopped before it destroys too many towns."
Lina buried her face in her hand as Zelgadis put in, "It should make things easier on Amelia if you do. Getting rid of a nusance like that would be good public relations."
Sirius stated, "We also need to do something about those bounties on Zelgadis and his friends' heads."
Lina sighed. "Gourry, Naga and myself will deal with Xoana. Sirius, you take Amelia and Zelgadis with you and head to Sairagg. Zolf and Rodimus, the two of you are staying here. You are the only two people I can trust to protect Phil while we are gone. Phil, I know that you have your own bodyguards, but I'm being cautious. Since Rodimus and Zolf are loyal followers of Zelgadis, it is in Zelgadis' best interests to guard you from any assassination attempts. That'll keep Seyruun authorities off our backs. If all goes well, my group will meet up with the others before tackling Rezo. Then, we should really see what the Clair Bible has to say."
Looking around, Lina saw that not everyone was happy about the way the group was being split up. She shook her head in resignation.
"Let's get going."
So saying, two groups left Seyruun. One headed to confront Xoana and the other on its way to Sairagg.
