In one such, the shadows were hungry and sought flesh aplenty in the unlucky visitor. In another, the secrets contained within could cause the unwary peruser to go mad from just glimpsing a single page. In yet another, the books actively wanted to be read and would try to cajole or entice passerby to read them for a purpose no more sinister than simply wanting their stories to be told and spread.
It followed then, that all these libraries were reflections of another library - one that was truly immense and encompassing and very very lost.
So Toltiir found one of the wayward ones and dragged it into place, arranging for a psionic distress signal to be placed within it. It would direct Naruto through several universes when he used his teleport, causing much mischief and chaos before it was eventually found and stopped.
The Evangelion world, the DC Universe, the My Little Pony-land, the Pokemon world, Federation Space, and all the others they'd stopped in had been intended to provide a massive shift in the paradigm of those travelling. Except that, of the expected stops, Naruto had managed to avoid: My Little Pony, RIFTS Phase World, and a large number of side-trips. The Witch Of Space/Time had somehow figured out that she was on the tour and had managed to put a Teleport Block up in time to deflect Naruto away.
Sometime he'd have to go pay a visit and ask how she'd figured out about his planning that stop.
The TSAB were still trying to track Naruto and it would most likely be ready to make contact in an hour local time.
Which meant that the situation could certainly get crazier in the meantime, couldn't it?
Though even Toltiir was surprised when Naruto (and a trailing Hinata) found the section with Summoning Contracts and one of the genin managed to trip and put a hand onto a summoning contract. With the scratch involved it didn't require much interference for the child's name to appear there and it to count as a signed contract. Though it was going to be interesting to see what would happen with:
