"Otaki?"
"Tamiya?"
"This is... so beautiful."
"That it is, Tamiya."
Red it was, a sparkling clean red with chrome bits. And lo, there were five drawers that could be folded up to an open position or closed to secure the contents in their little compartments.
And if one opened those compartments, one beheld shiny works of art nestled in those compartments. Shining, gleaming, chromed bits of hardened steel. And if one didst look upon it, one would see that it was good and wholesome, and the tools all but did cry out for one to come and lift them and make good use of them.
"So are one of you going to sign for this or not?" asked the delivery person.
Otaki was the first to be able to tear himself away from the sight, but it was a difficult thing.
The delivery person watched the two practically having a religious experience over a five-drawer Master Mechanics Set. "Gearheads."
Then she shrugged. What would you expect from a Motor Club in a technical college?
"So... shiny," murmurred Tamiya, ignoring the departing delivery person.
"Eh, we got to get to class," said Otaki. "What are we going to do about this corporate sponsor? Other than ask Morisato about it since they've got his name on the stuff."
Tamiya blinked, the spell momentarily broken. "Win races. Best thing we can do for a sponsor, ain't it?"
KOS-MOS went to her "rest state" which was powered down considerably from her normal state. It was similar to a human's sleep cycle, with only minimal awareness of her environment. As such, she deemed it dangerous but necessary until better arrangements could be made.
The smaller of the two computers sent to the Motor Club was still functioning, and it had been updated with a schedule that showed several of the races that the club would compete in.
They were not something she could do anything with at the present time however. Repairs of system were underway and took priority over secondary concerns.
So she "slept" in the power-conserving mode, waiting for any number of things to complete.
