"It's a plane?" asked the reporter absently, squinting in the direction Nanoha was pointing.
The moving dot abruptly went upward at a very high rate of speed until it was right over the rampaging kaiju.
Then it came down and everyone present knew EXACTLY what that was.
"It's SUPERMAN!" squeed Nanoha, wondering if (since she was a superhero/magical girl now) they could be friends.
The red-blue blur smashed into the rampaging kaiju with enough of an impact that the helicopter bucked in the air and the few cars sitting abandoned on the street nearby went flying. At which point, he stood there in midair, looking down on the clearly-stunned kaiju.
An instant later he got a hammer strike to the head courtesy of one of the girls that had been fighting the kaiju.
"That's it," said the reporter. "They are DEFINITELY Dark Magical Girls! They're now attacking Superman!"
Hayate Yagami twitched. At first she had been incensed over her new friends being labelled "Dark Magical Girls" but now after Vita and now Signum were double-teaming Superman after he'd beaten the kaiju...
What exactly had her Wolkenritter friends NOT been telling her? They couldn't claim to have mistaken Superman for an enemy, since he had just punched the kaiju to the ground and had not attacked them at all.
They'd better have a pretty darn good explanation for this.
Vita lined up her shot as the guy in the blue-and-red suit, clearly a powerful mage specializing in enhancing his own physical characteristics, dodged one of Signum's swordstrikes that was meant to put him in exactly the right position. Once he was down, Shamal could finish stealing the monster's linker core and this guy's. It might be enough to finish off the Book Of Darkness in one night!
At which point a glowing green cage appeared around her.
"That's quite enough of that," said a large man with skin like ebony, a line of glowing green light linking the cage to a ring on his finger. "I'm not sure what's going on, but you three have a lot to expl-"
He was interrupted at that point by Zafira slamming into him and trying to bite that ring finger off.
Vita smashed through the bars while the mage was distracted. Shopping for linker cores looked to be pretty good today, but they'd better finish before MORE of these native mages showed up. "Graf Eisen!"
[Explosion! Raketenform!]
Shamal tuned out the battle above and around. Her binding spell wouldn't last long if the great beast awoke, so she had to finish draining it NOW.
"Why do tails disappear as I drain it?" asked Shamal aloud as she continued her work. It was down to eight tails now, and had shrunk a bit.
At which point the kaiju's eyes opened and focussed directly on her.
"Prime Minister! The leader of the 'good guy' magical girls is on the phone! She says that she's an Admiral of the Time/Space Administration Bureau and she needs to speak to you immediately!"
The Japanese Prime Minister looked at the phone and debated the wisdom of answering it. On the one hand, it promised answers. On the other hand, this was just going to kick him in the rear come elections - no matter WHAT else happened at this point. He reached for the phone.
"So, magical girl, what's your superhero name?" asked the reporter.
"Ahhhh," said the little girl, turning and seeing the camera focussed on her again. "Can you edit my face out?"
"What... shouldn't you be wearing a mask if you want to keep your secret identity secret?" asked the reporter.
"Nanoha!" yelled Fate as she swooped in. "Do you have any idea who these others are?"
"They're the Justice League! We gotta help them!" said Nanoha.
"ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
"Oh heck!" said Fate, the reporter, the cameraman, the helicopter pilot, Nanoha, and a wide variety of other people as the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox declared the desire to go to round two. Even if he was down to Eight Tails. Seven if you didn't count the stubby one.
At which point a tail stretched out, and swatted at the annoying bug that had been flying around. The tail smashed through Fate's shield, part of the fuselage, and about half of the main rotor.
At which point the helicopter started spinning, people started screaming, and a couple of other things were not immediately apparent.
After about three seconds, the helicopter STOPPED falling and spinning.
"How did you manage that?" asked Midori, young reporter for her TV station.
"It wasn't me," said the pilot.
"That would be me, actually," said someone outside the helicopter.
Hitomi noticed the cameraman had succeeded in regaining his feet and was filming the girl who was flying outside the helicopter.
"Are you one of the good magical girls?" asked Midori hopefully.
"She was one of those earlier helping in the evacuation," muttered the cameraman.
"Do you have a superhero name at least?" asked Midori.
"I am Ifurita," said Ifurita, directing the helicopter towards an empty area. "This location isn't safe. It is advised you evacuate."
"You didn't answer my question about being a hero though," noted Midori.
"Naruto is our leader, and he has expressed a desire to be a 'ninja hero'," said Ifurita thoughtfully as she settled the helicopter down. Then she flew off without another word.
Fate and Yuuno settled down a moment afterwards.
