"About two hours ago, Kakashi."
"I got held up, there is something going on with my genin."
"Yes, it is about that," said the Hokage, "that I wished to speak with you regarding."
"You already know?" asked Kakashi.
The Hokage merely smiled around his pipe.
"So why?" asked Kakashi.
"We confiscated the first one, for the good of the village," said the Hokage. "It was inevitable that Naruto would try to build a second."
"I haven't been able to find it though," admitted Kakashi.
"That's because it's invisible," said the Hokage.
"...Team Seven, raw genin out of the Academy, have an invisible airship," said Kakashi, considering the idea.
"Team Awesome seeks to live up to that name," said the Hokage wish a smirk.
"That's NOT their official name," protested Kakashi.
"If the knowledge of it becomes more widespread," said the Hokage, "there will be official petitions that I must hear regarding it. In the meantime, it is simply classified secret and is a prototype."
"A 'prototype'?" asked Kakashi.
"A term one of the moogles, the airship builders, used. You use one vehicle to test out various ideas. Such as the fuuinjutsu that Naruto has scribed on the airship that cause the illusion that it is not there," said Hiruzen Sarutobi. "There is another such array on the ship that Naruto is still working out that could be quite interesting."
"I see," said Kakashi. Certainly if they took this one away, that might discourage Naruto from experimenting on it. "What's this one do?"
"If what has been overheard is correct, Naruto would be able to channel fresh chakra to either of his two team-mates to replace theirs when they are exhausted," said the Hokage. "Especially Hinata's for when she does a mass summoning."
Kakashi stared for a moment as the idea of Naruto being able to recharge someone else's chakra bounced around in his head. "Oh dear."
"If he can manage that, Hinata may be able to summon an entire line of those ranged-jutsu wielders," noted the Hokage. "You can imagine the possibilities of such can you not?"
"The mind boggles," admitted Kakashi.
"So, one of the missions I expect to occur in the near future will be for Team 7 to build an additional airship, in secret," said the Hokage.
"In secret?" asked Kakashi.
"Yes, my plan is currently to have two airships that are known about - following the flyby of the city keeping one of them secret would have been impossible," said the Hokage. "Another ship, smaller, for a single team to operate that will be directly under the command of an ANBU. Another two airships that are held in complete secrecy that will be faster and better equipped."
"So you do have some plans," noted Kakashi.
"Don't think just having two airships, one of which could carry twenty troops, won't cause some panic in some circles," said the Hokage.
"Okay, it's done, the stealth field's as good as I can make it," said Naruto, putting away his brushes and the ink pots.
"Is that why the light's kind of dim?" asked Terra. "Sort of like twilight."
"Yeah," said Naruto, grinning widely. And why not? He thought having an INVISIBLE airship was even cooler than having an airship. "Light tends to bend around us. I had to use something rigid, and it'd fall apart if we went with a much bigger ship, but this should do okay. People will have trouble seeing us, especially if we're still. With that and the sound-suppressing seals around the engines - we can sneak around whenever we want."
"I can still see this with the Byakugan," pointed out Hinata from outside the ship.
"Well, let's try and keep this one," said Terra.
"Hopefully Kakashi-sensei won't find it," said Naruto. "It took me a long time to build up the tracking seal and the invisibility seals. Though it's given me some ideas for improving it..."
"That's good," said Kakashi.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Kakashi looked over the side of the ship to where Naruto had leapt off and apparently landed on his face. "You might want to work on your landings, you know."
