"Yes, that was my name," admitted Caster.
"Get rid of her, she was a very bad person," said Asuka to Naruto. "As in now. There's no way I'm trusting my back to someone with HER reputation."
"Fine, I don't see anything to keep me here anyway," said Caster, dismissing herself.
An image appeared in midair, a two-dimensional card that rotated. On one side, the "back" of the card, there was a number eight bisected with a two-headed arrow. The other face shifted from one image to another at apparent random.
"What is this?" asked Shinji, wondering if going for protective cover was indicated at this point.
"My Summoning Contract is with Legendary Champions, I think," said Naruto, looking over his contract. He pointed at a set of squiggles. "According to this, if the Champion rejects me - another one is summoned."
"So 'good guys' or 'bad guys' then," summed up Asuka. "A 'champion' could be either, right?"
"Honestly, what a..." Medea stopped. She was in a room that she didn't recognize. "What?!"
"It exactly resembles a bar in an airport," said someone she didn't recognize. "The sort that has an adjacent lounge where one waits for a flight."
"Who?" asked Medea.
"Oh, I'm one of the other possibilities for the role of 'Caster' actually," said the woman.
"Hulk like ramen! It almost as good as beans!"
The two Caster looked in the direction of the lumbering green giant.
"Must be a 'Berserker'," said both Casters.
"In any case," said the blonde modern Caster, pointing. "That's the exit if you want to use it. Just keep in mind that once you do - you'll never be able to return."
"Why would I want to?" asked Medea as she eyed the door marked 'Exit' in clear block letters.
"Because this would have been your chance to be a heroic Action Mom, or possibly a 'big sister' role," said the modern Caster. "Ah. Someone's going for it."
Medea watched as someone waved and ran into the tunnel that was marked 'Departures' and realized that the view outside the windows was of the boy that she'd just left. Oh, that rude redhead was there too.
"Interesting," noted the modern Caster. "It looks as though Naruto's current 'champion' is:"
