The clothing looked durable, and the Hokage could tell there was armor involved. Mesh of some sort sandwiched between canvas and another material of some kind. Over that were plates of more obviously placed armor.
Then of course, there was the sword. A slender shortsword, sized for Naruto, in a shoulder holster. The hilt appeared to be of black leather with a pommel that looked like a dragon's eye.
He was still wearing orange though.
It was the dragon that would get noticed first though. Four legs, winged, long tail, long neck that terminated in a head that yawned to show lots of little sharp teeth.
Yes, he had to get some information on this.
"The forbidden scrolls have been recovered and can be put away, Hokage-sama," said one of the ANBU, setting the two large and one slightly smaller one down.
"You were able to open the third scroll, Naruto?" asked the Hokage, indicating the most ancient and secret one.
"Yeah, it's kind of tricky though," said Naruto.
"Perimeter," said the Hokage to his ANBU. Once they'd done so, the Hokage returned his attention to Naruto. "Can you open it for me now?"
"Not all the way," said Naruto, who then knelt and opened that scroll just a bit.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyes flicked over the writings that were revealed, lips pursed thoughtfully, then looked away and considered that. "I see."
"Yeah," said Naruto.
"From now on, the Scroll Of Secrets is to be sealed within a box, which is itself to be sealed within the floor of the tower," said the Hokage. "Unless there is a safer place for it?"
"Actually, there is," said Naruto.
"Show me, please, Naruto," said the Hokage.
The ANBU reacted to the sudden disappearance of both Hokage and Naruto, but could find no trace of them for several minutes before both reappeared as oddly as they'd vanished.
"This is all to be considered S-Rank secrets," said the Hokage. "It won't last, of course. Still, it should be spoken of as little as possible for as long as possible."
Iruka cleared his throat, reminding them of his continued presence.
