Mischief Fragment Shippuden: Dragonball: The eyes have (had) it! [Episode 254422]

by Kestral

Tsunade frowned as she picked herself up, not out of anger but of consideration.

Jiraiya managed to throw me a good four feet just by releasing power and going to this enhanced state. Now he's standing on air because he hasn't moved but the ground was blown away under his feet. What the hell kind of power is he tapping?

Tsunade glanced to the sides. Shizune and Sakura had been next to her. Shizune was just getting up and looked dazed. Sakura... looked unconscious.

Tsunade looked at the final member of their group. Hinata was still standing, but seemed to be instinctually shading her eyes from the glow around Naruto.

"How strong are you now?" mused Tsunade aloud. Clearly the test against Kakashi hadn't been particularly revealing.

"Strong!" repeated Naruto, cocky grin in place. "Well over nine thousand!"

"How strong?" asked Tsunade. "And the next person to say anything like 'over nine thousand' gets beaten."

"'Beaten'?" asked Naruto.

"Or I'll give you punishment duties for the next month," said Tsunade.

"It's not completely Naruto's fault," said Jiraiya, fumbling with one pocket. "Judging our strength is rather difficult. Back where we trained there were various devices for measuring power output. One reading of which somehow took off as a saying that Naruto was fond of taunting the enemy with."

Tsunade glanced at the device that Jiraiya pulled out of a pocket but didn't move to take it. "What about a practical demonstration?"

"Okay," said Naruto, looking around and trying to think.

Jiraiya shrugged, held up one hand, and blew up the moon.

"DANZO-SAMA!" cried out one of the Root members.

Another of the Root checked out the collapsed leader, gasping at what he found. "His Sharingan."

"What happened?" asked a third member of Root, keeping an eye out for possible enemy ninja.

"It... melted," said the medic, who then went to work at stopping the bleeding.

Tobi looked up at the sky, seeing the moon there. No matter what was going on with that ridiculously powerful chakra in Konoha, he could find peace simply by looking at that moon and knowing that his plans were still going forward.

The moon exploded.

Tobi stared for a few minutes, then gave vent to a stream of profanity that was very repetitive but heartfelt.

After all, he was alone and could vent without giving anything away.

"Nagato."

"Konan."

"What does this mean?"

Nagato considered carefully the image fed him by one of his other bodies. "Screw this. I need a vacation."

"Because our plans required the development of a tailed beast weapon, which is now secondary to whatever is in the Land of Fire?" asked Konan.

"Pretty much," said Nagato. "We could try to capture the weapon that Konoha developed, but that requires knowing what exactly we're going after."

"Sasori and Deidara are already en route to collect the Onetailed Beast," pointed out Konan.

"I do NOT recall saying one thing about blowing up the moon," pointed out Tsunade.

"You wanted a demonstration of power," pointed out Jiraiya.

"The moon?" indicated an incredulous Tsunade, helpfully pointing at the glowing dust cloud.

Jiraiya shrugged. "I'll replace it later."

"How could you blow... " Tsunade had her mouth open, finger pointing, further argument on her lips when what Jiraiya had said penetrated. She came to a complete and utter halt.

"C'mon, gaki, we'll get some ramen." Jiraiya beckoned to his student, then turned his gaze to Hinata. "You can come too, but only if you promise not to try and kill or maim Naruto."

"I thought she wanted a debrief," said Naruto, depowering.

Jiraiya glanced back at Tsunade, who still hadn't moved. "Give her a little time first. I don't think she's quite ready."

"Meh, okay, but you're paying!" replied Naruto.
