"You're a friend of Naruto's?" asked Kakashi.
"Something like that," said Kurama. "We go way back."
"Oh? You're from the village then?" asked Kakashi, who then hesitated and frowned under his usual mask. "Have we met?"
"I'm not from Konoha specifically," said Kurama. "Though I've been there for a considerable length of time."
"I get the feeling I've met you somehow," said Kakashi, scratching his head.
"We may have met during the time a Sharingan-controlled Kyubi attacked Konoha," said Kurama, his odd grin faltering as anger briefly appeared on his face and then was gone again. "That was then, though."
"You don't look that old," said Kakashi.
"I just age very well," said Kurama. "Now, don't you think we should get busy? Everyone else has left."
"Oh, right," said Kakashi, momentarily tabling the odd feeling that he knew this individual from somewhere and that this person was somehow dangerous. Though none of that danger seemed to be directed towards him.
"I do hope we get to a decent fight soon," said Kurama as he set out after Team Gai. "It would be pleasant to cut loose again."
"Ah," said Kakashi, figuring that this 'Kurama' was some sort of combat monster type. That would explain a few things.
"We'll split up here," said Sakura. "I'll work on neutralizing the poison in Kankuro and bringing him back to health."
Temari frowned. "I have to leave too. We're going to have to step up patrols as some of the other villages might see this as an opportunity to attack us."
"If they are that idiotic, we'll just blast 'em into dust," said Naruto.
"No, Naruto, you do NOT have the authority to go blowing up any countries or villages, Tsunade was very clear on that point," said Jiraiya. "I still have to put together a new moon, and so I'm going to meet with Suna's council about getting that taken care of."
"You're the one who blew up the moon?!" asked Temari, staring and twitching a little.
"Tsunade wanted me to demonstrate how strong I'd gotten," said Jiraiya with a little shrug.
Naruto shrugged. "Stuff like that happens."
"Building a new moon is going to require some work," said Jiraiya. "So, I expect I'll be quite busy just clearing permission."
"You're building a moon," said Temari.
"So that leaves us and Team Gai to go after the bad guys," summed up Naruto. "We WILL bring Gaara back, dattebayo!"
"Then you better get to it," said Jiraiya.
"This is so slow," complained Naruto as he ran along.
"We're tracking," said Gai. "What do you expect?"
"Not that 'Instant Move' thing again," protested Tenten. "I feel like my stomach still hasn't caught up."
"If only you guys knew the Crane Levitation technique," said Naruto.
"Why don't we just go ahead of the group and blast the thieves into little bitty pieces?" asked Kurama.
"Cause we're trying to get Gaara back," said Naruto.
"Oh, yes, right," said Kurama. "Makes things a bit more difficult, I suppose."
"Don't let the fires of your youth diminish, Kurama-san!" declared Lee.
"I'm not as young as I look," said Kurama, his smile returning as if there was a hidden joke involved.
