"I got her the first of the onmyodo scrolls," answered Naruto.
"Ah," indicated Sasuke.
"She's working on explosive tags, unfortunately she doesn't have the amount of chakra we've got to work with," said Naruto.
BANG!
"Well, maybe it's a good thing she doesn't have that much to work with right now," amended Naruto.
"Okay, today's mission," said Kakashi, frowning as he looked over the mission scroll. "We're to find and capture a runaway cat."
"A cat?" asked Naruto. "Not a nekomusume or nekomata or catbus?"
"Don't underestimate this cat," said Kakashi. "Some call it the 'demon cat of Fire Country' in fact."
"Really?" asked a skeptical Naruto.
"Mission is to capture it alive and unharmed," said Kakashi.
"That's going to be tricky," said Naruto. "See, because of certain things - animals tend to avoid me."
"They sense death, they generally try to avoid that," said a smirking Sasuke.
"Well, be that as it may, it's today's mission," said Kakashi. Honestly he preferred the normal genin D-Rank missions. He could spend time reading.
"Well, if we have a general area," mused Sakura. "There's something I want to try..."
DEATH.
There was a blonde kid pursuing who red-flagged every survival instinct the cat had.
The boy was Death. Capital D that rhymed with E that meant Escape!
Now there was another of the clumsy humans in the way. A dark male who didn't seem as dangerous but would return him to That Woman.
Won't catch me THAT easily, clumsy two-legs, yowled Tora as he leapt to a crate and then towards the top of a fence.
FZAK!
Only to bounce off a wall that wasn't there?
"Barrier seal successful!" said a female two-legs.
Sakura was walking on clouds, not literally though as that was a very high ranked technique.
Her first attempt at using her new studies into fuuinjutsu and onmyodo was successful. Oh sure, it wouldn't have held against anything more powerful than a housecat - and even then it could have broken free with effort and enough time. Still, it had held long enough.
There were so many things that could be done with feng shui and seal work. Barriers, alarms, explosive tags, exorcism tags, spirit wards, and more.
The problem was that she'd need greater chakra reserves in order to lay out the more powerful seals.
Glancing towards her sensei and her two team-mates, Sakura decided to just go ahead and ask. "Sensei? Are there any exercises suitable for building chakra reserves besides meditating?"
"Oh?" asked Kakashi, glancing at Sakura and then the other two members of his team. Well, they're already getting dangerous missions. Maybe...
"The barriers weren't very strong," pointed out Sakura. "You have to put chakra out into the seals when you're making them and right now I can't do too much."
"Well, there's 'tree-climbing'," said Kakashi, moving towards one tree that was nearby to demonstrate.
