Naruto landed with all the grace of a bag of cement. That the pavement cratered for three meters on all sides was merely an expression of how much he'd changed since arriving at Evil Academy.
It took a few minutes for him to get his bearings and stand again, mainly because he was trying to figure out if anyone was nearby.
Changing your status from Inactive to Target was best accomplished after you knew what your status was.
When he did stand, it was to find himself on a white marble platform. Steps, floating in midair as far as he could tell, led down from his platform to a landing and then down further from that.
On a set of tables was some sort of game system, and a TV.
"Is there a 'go home' option?" asked Naruto, checking the menu on the game. "Ahhh. Maybe?"
Sinister music played.
"A sole human wannabe hero has wandered into the Netherworld. After toughening himself and receiving an education at the prestigious Evil Academy, Naruto Uzumaki is ready to begin his OWN journey."
"Home?" asked Naruto.
"To open a portal to his homeworld, Naruto needs to Summon Dark Assembly and pass a measure. To actually go home, Naruto needs to get the Good Ending."
"That's dumb, if I open a portal - don't that mean I can go through it? Yeesh," said Naruto.
Naruto stared at the display. "12%? How the netherworld am I supposed to pass a measure with an approval rating of 12%?"
Naruto shook his head and then went through the whole menu, looking for clues.

"Only 3% for a ramen festival," said Naruto sadly. He clenched his fist and recovered in order to proclaim. "I haven't had ramen in seventeen lifetimes. BY ALL THAT IS UNHOLY, I WILL HAVE MY RAMEN!"
"Eh? That voice. It couldn't be."
Naruto's eyes bugged a little as he saw the small cart that had stopped outside his little castle. "It- it can't be!"
Teuchi blinked and pointed. "How? How did you get here?"
"Me? What about you?" asked Naruto.
"Business competitor," said Ayame, coming around the side of the cart. "Used a jutsu to throw us into another universe so he could expand his own shop."
"Wha- what happened to you?" asked Naruto, though he had an idea he knew.
"Mad Scientist, experiment," said Ayame.
"You're-" said Naruto.
"Half nekomata," said Ayame.
"Oh," said Naruto, whose face went into grim and determined territory. "That's it. We're getting a ramen stand in this castle, and I don't care WHOSE ass I have to kick!"
"A little 'Suikoden' in the 'Disgaea'?" asked Kurama.
"A bit," admitted Toltiir.
"So he has to befriend or recruit 108 stars in order to return home?" asked Kurama.
"Something like that, perhaps," admitted Toltiir.
"Figured," said Kurama.
